CloudTalk Releases Voice App Just Sayin’

Just Sayin’ enables Twitter and Facebook users the ability to embed audio, video, images and text from just one platform.

CloudTalk announces the release of its newest app Just Sayin’ for iOS and Android. The application aims to revolutionize online social communication by allowing its users to integrate their own voice and sounds into social media.
Just Sayin’ allows users to enrich their Twitter and Facebook updates with personal voice recordings embedded directly into an update or tweet.
"This focus on voice and sound functionality has proven to be especially valuable to celebrities where there is an ever-present demand for them to be authentic, personal, and to deliver fresh content. Musicians may be inspired to upload a sound bite or video from the most recent concert or a lyric teaser from a newly recorded track.
Comedians once handicapped by commas and exclamation points and emoticons to tell a joke using text on social networks can now exercise comedic timing in Twitter or Facebook. Share interviews, two-way conversations, or re-energize fair-use recordings," says Sam Yousif, Director of Sales & Marketing.
Key features on Just Sayin’
  •     Voice Recording and Sharing
  •     The ability to tag users from the application to Twitter
  •     Post any combination of content using audio, video, photos and text and cross-post to your Twitter followers and Facebook
  •     Discover and follow the growing community
  •     Talk with and follow your favourite celebrity, musician, politician or athlete
  •     View trending and featured topics
  •     Private messaging
  •     Freedom from character count restrictions on some social networks
Just Sayin’ is available for free download:
iOS devices including iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

Android
While the web-based version can be accessed at http://www.justsayinapp.com (Launching end of April).

Q1 2014: Global SMARTPHONE Vendor Shipments/Market Share. Samsung 31.2%, Apple 15.3%, Huawei 4.7 %, Lenovo 4.7%.

Francisco De Jesùs.

Samsung & Apple Slip as Global Smartphone Shipments Reach 285 Million Units in Q1 2014.

According to the latest research from our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) research service, global smartphone shipments grew +33% annually to reach 285 million units in the first quarter of 2014. Leaders Samsung and Apple lost slight traction in the quarter, while Huawei and Lenovo each held five percent marketshare worldwide.
Global smartphone shipments grew 33 percent annually from 213.9 million units in Q1 2013 to 285.0 million in Q1 2014.Smartphone growth was mixed on a regional basis during the quarter, with healthy demand in Asia counterbalanced by sluggish volumes across North America due to changes in the operator subsidy mix.
SAMSUNG shipped 89.0 million smartphones worldwide and captured 31 percent marketshare in Q1 2014, dipping slightly from 32 percent a year earlier. This was Samsung’s first annual marketshare loss in the smartphone category since Q4 2009. Samsung continues to face tough competition from Apple at the higher-end of the smartphone market and from Chinese brands like Huawei at the lower-end.

APPLE grew a below-average 17 percent annually and shipped 43.7 million iPhones worldwide for 15 percent marketshare in Q1 2014, falling from the 17 percent level recorded during Q1 2013. Apple remains strong in the premium smartphone segment, but a lack of presence in the entry-level category continues to cost it lost volumes in fast-growing emerging markets such as Latin America.
The combined global smartphone marketshare of SAMSUNG and APPLE has slipped from 50 percent in Q1 2013 to 47 percent in Q1 2014. There is more competition than ever coming from the second-tier smartphone brands.

HUAWEI remained steady with 5 percent global smartphone marketshare in Q1 2014, while LENOVO has increased its global presence from 4 percent to 5 percent share during the past year. Huawei is expanding swiftly in Europe, while Lenovo continues to grow aggressively outside China into new regions such as Russia. If the recent Lenovo takeover of MOTOROLA gets approved by various governments in the coming months, this will eventually create an even larger competitive force that Samsung and Apple must contend with in the second half of this year.

Q1 2014. Global Mobile Phone Vendor Shipments and Market Share. Samsung 27.7%, Nokia 11.5%, Apple 10.7%.

Francisco De Jesùs.

According to the latest research from our Wireless Device Strategies (WDS) research service, global mobile phone shipments grew 9 percent annually to reach 408 million units in the first quarter of 2014. Huawei was the star performer among the top five players, capturing 3 percent share and growing two times faster than the industry average.

Global mobile phone shipments grew 9 percent annually from 372.7 million units in Q1 2013 to 407.9 million in Q1 2014. Smartphones accounted for 7 in 10 of total mobile phone shipments during the quarter. The 9 percent growth rate of the overall mobile phone market is at its highest level since 2011, driven by healthier demand for 4G and 3G models across Asia, Africa and elsewhere.

Samsung grew 6 percent annually and shipped 113.0 million mobile phones worldwide, capturing 28 percent marketshare in Q1 2014. Samsung’s growth rate has slowed recently due to tougher competition from Chinese vendors, but Samsung maintains an impressive product portfolio and it is still shipping more mobile phones worldwide than Apple, LG and Nokia combined. Nokia shipped 47.0 million mobile phones worldwide for 12 percent share in Q1 2014. Nokia continues to face intense competition from Apple and dozens of Android vendors. New owner Microsoft will be looking to Nokia’s upgraded X phone portfolio to stabilize the downturn in the coming months.

Apple shipped 43.7 million iPhones worldwide in Q1 2014, up from 37.4 million a year earlier. Apple has closed the marketshare gap on Nokia to just one point, and Nokia will have to fight hard to stay ahead in the second half of this year. LG had a mixed quarter, capturing 4 percent share of the global mobile phone market. LG is performing well in Europe, but China and India remain major weak spots that the vendor still needs to address.

Other findings from the research include:

  • Huawei shipped 14.2 million mobile phones worldwide for 3 percent marketshare to remain the world’s fifth largest vendor in Q1 2014. The company’s annual growth rate is two times higher than the overall mobile phone industry average. Huawei’s 3G and 4G Android devices are proving relatively popular in Asia and North America;
  • A long tail of second-tier brands continues to build momentum beyond the established top five mobile phone brands. Key emerging challengers in mobile phones worldwide at the moment include TCL-Alcatel, Coolpad, Lenovo, Xiaomi and others. These are important players to monitor.

Get a MacBook Air with more power lower price says Apple.

Francisco De Jesùs.

Apple just updated the MacBook Air line processor to based on Intel’s Haswell architecture (bringing updated versions of Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors to the MacBook Air)—aren’t just about increasing performance on the MacBook Air line; the focus is on providing that performance without compromising battery life.

Even more significantly, the company’s dropped the price of the MacBook Air models by $100 each, making the slim portables even more affordable than ever.

Like their predecessors, these 13-inch and 11-inch MacBook Air models offer 12 and 9 hours of battery life, respectively. There’s also a minor increase in the amount of iTunes movie playback time you can achieve on the new Airs, from 8 hours to 9 hours on the 11-inch model and from 10 hours to 12 hours on the 13-inch model.

The improvements themselves are relatively minor: Across the board, the MacBook Air line now comes with a 1.4GHz Core i5 processor that can, with Turbo Boost, hit speeds of up to 2.7GHz; that’s up slightly from the 1.3GHz Core i5 found in previous MacBook Airs. Intel’s integrated HD Graphics 5000 chip remains standard, as does  4GB of memory and 128GB of flash storage. The $1099  11-inch model and $1199  13-inch model have otherwise identical specs, except for a 256GB flash drive. And of course all models sport the usual assortment of wireless technology, including 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Again, as with its predecessor, optional upgrades on the Air include a 1.7GHz Core i7, with Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz, for $150, as well as a RAM bump to 8GB for $100. The higher-level 11-inch and 13-inch models can also upgrade to 512GB of flash storage for $300.

RF Safe Announces New Protective Cell Phone Radiation Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with RF Radiation Shielded Flip Cover

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Cell Phone Radiation Protection - All new summer 2014 designs for RF Safe cell phone cases incorporate features to enhance a user's smartphone experience and deflect potentially harmful microwave radiation away from the head and body.

RF Safe's new line of custom fitting cell phone cases for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with radiation shielded flip cover and kickstand is the right case for those who want a slim case with functional features, such as a kickstand for easy viewing.
Familiar features, such as the flip cover using multifaceted Peel-n-Shield™ technology to both shield radiation and protect the phone's display screen, goes unmatched in design functionality, putting RF Safe Smartphone cases in a class of their own.
The fold out kickstand can be used in landscape orientation for a hands-free experience when viewing multimedia, managing photo slideshows, and displaying clock and calendar features. The kickstand does not support viewing the device in portrait orientation.
John Coates, RF Safe’s founder, says, “When a phone is used with a heads-free device and the phone is carried, your pocket radiant energy is absorbed much faster than at the head because tissues and organs such as the liver, kidneys and reproductive organs provide much better conductivity than the skull.”
RF Safe's flip cover cases only incorporate shielding mechanisms that utilize deflection, as absorption (attenuation) is never used to prevent affecting the phones software regulating RF power out-put.
Coates says, "It's only acceptable to use absorption technologies on wires (Ferrite Beads), such as on anair-tube headset that is plugged into a cell phone, but not on the cell phone headset itself."
-Specially designed for Samsung Galaxy Note 2

In Home appliances doing not so well and in Air conditioning reports  strong sales.

LG finally projected  for this year end profits in the smartphone sector. The TV sector I expect at least a conservative 7% to a high 10% level with WebOS in and better results in 2015.

Just hoping like everyone here , LG give us a surprise in the mobile sector with a powered WebOS slate smartphone or phatablet at CES 2015.

LG REPORTS IMPROVED FIRST-QUARTER 2014 RESULTS
Net Profit Increases More than 300 Percent from Same Period Last Year

SEOUL, Apr. 29, 2014 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced a 319 percent increase in first-quarter net profit compared with the same period last year. First-quarter 2014 net profit rose to KRW 92.60 billion (USD 86.62 million) while operating profit of KRW 504billion (USD 471.47million) marked a significant improvement from the previous quarter due to improved profitability from the LG Home Entertainment Company. Unaudited first quarter consolidated revenues of KRW 14.27 trillion (USD 13.35 billion) increased 1.2 percent compared to the same quarter in 2013.

The LG Home Entertainment Company reported first-quarter revenues of KRW 4.95 trillion (USD 4.63 billion), a 3 percent increase from the first quarter a year ago.Operating profit of KRW 240.30 billion (USD 224.79 million) exceeded expectations due to stronger sales of larger-sized TVs and better cost structure resulting from declining material prices. Revenues are expected to increase in the second quarter with new model launches. LG will continue to diversity its premium Ultra HD TV and OLED TV lineup with more sizes and price levels to offset greater competition.

The LG Mobile Communications Company shipped 12.3 million smartphones in the first quarter — comprising 75 percent of all phones shipped — an increase of 19 percent from the same period the previous year. LG’s shipment of 5 million LTE smartphones was the most ever in a single quarter, an increase of 79 percent year-over-year, accounting for 41 percent of all smartphone shipments in the quarter compared to 27 percent for all of 2013. Revenues of KRW 3.41 trillion (USD 3.19 billion) increased 6 percent year-on-year and operating profit margins rose quarter-on-quarter due to the launch of G Pro 2 in the domestic market and more efficient marketing spending. Higher revenues are expected in the second quarter with the release of the flagship LG G3 smartphone and wider roll-out of the mass-tier L Series III.

The LG Home Appliance Company posted strong sales in the Korean market but first-quarter revenue of KRW 2.72 trillion (USD 2.54 billion) was lower year-over-year due to greater competition in North America and unfavorable foreign currency exchange movement in developing markets. Improved cost structure resulted in first-quarter operating profit of KRW 109.20 billion (USD 102.15 million) and a profit margin of 4 percent. Going forward, LG expects revenues for home appliances to increase with the launch of market leading washing machine and refrigerator products.

The LG Air Conditioning & Energy Solution Company reported strong sales of commercial air conditioners in overseas markets with revenues of KRW 1.22 trillion (USD 1.14 billion) in the first quarter and operating profit of KRW 89.8 billion (USD 84 million), an increase of nearly 10 percent from the same period last year. LG expects both revenue and profitability to improve with a greater portion of sales from commercial air conditioners and increasing demand for new products such as dehumidifiers and air purifiers in Korea.
