Instructions for transfering and sync your music with HP Play beta on your webOS TouchPad.

Backing up your current files


1. Connect your HP TouchPad or other webOS device to your computer using an approved USB cable.
2. When prompted on the device, place it in "USB Drive Mode".
3. When your device appears on your desktop, double click on it
and locate your music folder (if you have any).
4. Copy your music files onto your computer to back them up.

Prepare iTunes library for importing to HP Play


1. Install iTunes, if it is not already present on your system.
2. Import your music collection into iTunes
3. Connect your WebOS device via USB
4. Install HP Play Beta


Note: Upon first launch of HP Play Beta, it may take some time to start. Please be patient, as we are aware of this issue. We're checking for new updates and preparing to read your iTunes library.

Importing your music


A. An iTunes import will begin automatically. Depending on the size of your music library, the time this takes will vary.
B. To manually select a folder to import, click File > Import Media (or ctrl+shift+o).

Transferring music to a USB device


1. Connect your PC to a mobile device using an approved USB cable.
2. Select USB Drive Mode on the device.
3. Your device should appear in the left column of HP Play.



Automatic and Manual options



There are 2 methods for transferring music to a USB device, such as a mobile phone or touchpad.

Automatic Sync


1. Select the USB device in the left column.
2. Select Auto next to "Audio Syncing:" near the top right.
3. Sync all music and playlists is set by default. To select specific playlists, click Sync selected playlists: and check mark your selections.
4. Click Apply to save your settings and begin transfer.



Manual Sync


1. Click Music in the left column to view your library.
2. Select specific tracks by single-clicking while holding ctrl. For large groups of songs, single-click the first track, hold shift, and then click the last track.
3. Once your selection is made, click and hold on one of the selected songs and drag them to your USB device.





System Requirements

Windows 7, Vista SP1, XP SP3

  • 1.5 GHz Pentium 4 or comparable
  • At least 512 MB of physical RAM
  • At least 150 MB of available space on your hard drive
