LG to start selling the LG Stylus 2 with Android M 6.0

LG Electronics Inc. said Tuesday it will start selling its new budget smartphone that comes with a price tag of around US$300, the latest in a series of budget smartphone models.

The LG Stylus 2, scheduled to go on sales this week in South Korea, was first showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Spain last month. The 5.7-inch smartphone weighs only 145 grams and is 7.4 millimeters thick.

The local factory price of the device stands at 396,000 won (US$329). The smartphone will also start sales in major countries, including those in North America and Europe this month.

The company said the smartphone will come with a pen that has a cloth tip for an almost natural writing experience, along with convenient menus and note-related options.

Another significant feature is an alarm that notifies users when the pen is a certain distance from the smartphone, making sure users don't lose their writing tool.

The LG Stylus 2 boasts a 13-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel one on the front. The replaceable battery has a capacity of 3,000 mAh.

LG Stylus 2 To Debut At Mobile World Congress 2016.

Real pen-like and memo pad feel lets you take notes and draw easily.

LG Electronics (LG) will unveil the LG Stylus 2 at next week's Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, LG MobileComm U.S.A. announced today.

Expected to be available in the United States later this year, this much-anticipated sequel to the G4 Stylus features a 5.7-inch large HD display for a cinematic viewing experience that also makes it easier to see more information at a glance. Plus, the LG Stylus 2 comes with a sensitive and thinnernano-coated pen tip that not only gives a real pen-like feel but also allows for more accuracy when notetaking and drawing compared to a rubber-tipped pen.

The LG Stylus 2 works just like using a real pen and memo pad with features like the new Calligraphy Pen font that allows one to write as beautifully and decoratively as if using a fountain pen. Also new is Pen Keeper, which prevents the stylus from being misplaced by displaying a popup message when the phone is detected as being in motion when the stylus bay is empty. The LG Stylus 2 also features Pen Pop which toggles a popup menu when the stylus is removed for shortcuts to Pop Memo and Pop Scanner.

Only 7.4mm thin and weighing just 145g, the LG Stylus 2 is noticeably thinner and lighter. Its slim design is complemented by a protruded flat display, Spin Hairline pattern on the back and metallic frames on all its edges. The LG Stylus 2 sports a high-capacity 3,000mAh removable battery and a SD card slot for enjoying images, video, audio and more on its large 5.7-inch HD display.
