Someone just bought a $77.000.- TRON light cycle.

That is crazy, maybe you can buy a TESLA electric car for that money. However a diehard fan of the TRON legacy movies just bought one TRON light cycle for US$77.000.- There aren't many details on the anonymous buyer

The light cycle was auctioned off by RM Sotheby's with original bidding prices said to have been set anywhere from $25,000 to $40,000.
The electric bike was designed for the Andrews Collection and was listed as "as-new condition."
According to the auction details, the light cycle contains a "96-volt, direct-drive electric motor with lithium batteries and a computer-controlled throttle, rebound and compression damping with spring-preload front suspension and rigid rear suspension, and front and rear hydraulic brakes."
The light cycle its 2011 build is extremely similar to the one designed by Parker Brothers Choppers and Evolve Motorcycles in the same year (see video above). It's possible they are one and the same.

Meet the First Harley-Davidson`s electric bike.Video.

Francisco De Jesùs.

Iconic motorbike manufacturer Harley-Davidson has revealed its first electric motorcycle. The bike will not go on general sale, instead the firm will select customers from the US to ride it and provide feedback. The bike - dubbed Project LiveWire - will travel down America's Route 66, visiting more than 30 Harley-Davidson dealerships between now and the end of the year.

Freedom and ingenuity has always shaped our nation, and our place in it. It's what inspired our founders. It compelled us to answer the call to serve. It united people around shared passions. And, inspired generations to express themselves. We share the same promise of freedom, and the same desire to expand it. That's the inspiration behind Project LiveWire, Harley-Davidson's first electric motorcycle. When it comes time to shape a next generation, we rely on American ingenuity and the very same people who got us here -- YOU.

The Future is now: The RYNO Bike. Video.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

Ryno - LeftFrontAngle_NEW

The Ryno bike: a one-wheeled, electric-powered motorcycle created by Chris Hoffmann. The Ryno was based off a sketch by Hoffmann's daughter who saw something like the vehicle in a video game. With 15 years of auto industry engineering experience, Hoffmann got busy building the very first Ryno.

Six years and three prototypes later, the Ryno travels at speeds up to 10 MPH and can travel up to 10 miles on a fully charged battery. The bike weights 160 pounds and can carry up to 260 pounds with its custom steel frame. LED headlights ensure riders can see where they're going and others in cars or on bikes can see the rider.

Last week, Hoffmann came into the Popular Science office and brought with him the Ryno. A couple of us rode it around the halls of our floor, people pulling off their headphones and peeking behind corners to see what was going on. It felt a little weird getting on the Ryno at first – there's no gas pedal or normal brake.

You propel it by leaning forward and go reverse by leaning back. To steer, it's more about rotating the hips than twisting the handlebars. Hoffmann guided me on my first couple of rides down the hallways, kind of like learning how to ride a bike. But once I got the hang of it, I pretty much felt like I was riding a motorcycle owned by the Red Power Ranger.

Hoffmann's first-year plan is to have a limited amount of bikes sold by five dealers, and begin shipping on April 16. The Ryno bike will be priced at about $5,300. Check out more details about the motorcycle on its website.

RYNO RETAILS FOR $5,295.

That includes two RYNO SLA batteries, RYNO charger, powerful LED headlights, the RYNO display stand – everything you need to ride your RYNO. And guess what? The air conditioning’s free.

UPGRADE TO LITHIUM ION BATTERIES FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE.

Purchase RYNO authorized Lithium Ion batteries, which will enable you recharge your power supply up to 1,000 times or more.  Check with your dealer for details.

ADD THE RYNO RACK FOR $169.95.

Even though you ride the RYNO solo – it doesn’t mean you can’t take some things with you. The custom-designed RYNO rack is compatible with most bicycle pannier-style bags, so you can hit the grocery store, carry your laptop, or whatever else you need when you’re out and about.

MADE IN THE USA

All RYNO Micro-cycles are built and assembled just outside of Portland, Oregon, using the highest quality materials, components and of course, the best of a highly skilled work force.
