The number one Microsoft Office alternative LibreOffice has just received another update today that brings improved compatibility with the DOCX format, which is being used by Microsoft for its own Office productivity suite.
LibreOffice 5.3.2 is specifically focused on this feature, bringing over 50 patches, many of them related to RTF and DOCX formats.
LibreOffice is released in both 32- and 64-bit versions for Windows, but the latter is only available on Windows Vista and newer. The 32-bit flavor of LibreOffice runs even on Windows XP, the 15-year-old operating system that no longer receives updates since April 2014.
