Canada: HP honours top partners.

WorldWideTech & SCience. Francisco De Jesús.

Compugen, Insight and LaserNetworks recognized for growth in the HP business.

HP honoured its top Canadian partners at last week’s HP Americas Partner Conference 2011 in Las Vegas, handing out awards for top-growing partners in each of its three businesses.

In Canada, those winners were:
  • Insight Canada took home the Partner in Excellence Award for growth with HP’s Personal Systems Group;
  • LaserNetworks won the Partner in Excellence Award for growth with HP’s Imaging and Printing Group; and
  • Compugen took the Partner in Excellence Award for growth with HP Canada’s Enterprise Business.
Compugen also took home the company’s Power of Preserving our Ecosystem Partner in Excellence Award for its Green4Good program (of which HP is a sponsor) rolled out last October.

Also, Synnex earned the company’s Distributor Growth Award, which covers both the distributor’s Canadian and U.S. operations.

John Cammalleri, vice president of HP Canada’s Solution Partner Organization, called the class of award-winners “rock-solid,” but added that HP Canada could have easily acknowledged more solutions providers for their growth with HP – growth that powered a considerable overall uptick in HP’s channel business across the Americas over the last year.

“We’re very proud of these partners, and they’re very deserving of what they were recognized for tonight, it’s just too bad we couldn’t hand out more awards to more people,” Cammalleri said.

HP APC 2011: HP Accelerates Channel Partner Cloud Opportunities

WorldWideTech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

HP Accelerates Channel Partner Cloud Opportunities
New program focuses on partner business models to win in the cloud
LAS VEGAS, March 29, 2011

HP today announced a program for channel partners who want to quickly capitalize on rapidly expanding cloud market opportunities with HP’s broad cloud portfolio.

Unveiled at the HP Americas Partner Conference in Las Vegas, the HP CloudSystem Partner Program provides tools for channel partners to build expert cloud practices by evolving their business models and developing cloud-focused skills. As a result, they can expand their portfolios and increase revenues with cloud solutions that help transform their customers’ businesses.

HP’s new program targets a cloud market opportunity that is projected to grow to $143 billion by 2013.(1) The HP CloudSystem portfolio enables partners to build and manage complete, integrated cloud solutions across private, public and hybrid cloud environments. Resources for channel partner cloud practices include Cloud Centers of Excellence demonstration sites, the Cloud Enablement program, training, PartnerONE incentives and cloud professional services.

“Our partners play a strategic role in building and delivering cloud solutions for customers,” said Frank Rauch, vice president, Channel Sales, Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking, HP. “Working with HP, channel partners can quickly build cloud practices today and develop new business models that take advantage of the massive cloud opportunity moving forward.”

HP Cloud Centers of Excellence
HP is expanding the infrastructure solutions for its Cloud Centers of Excellence, which allow channel partners to transform their facilities into cloud demonstration sites. Building on the HP Converged Infrastructure architecture, the centers are based on CloudSystem, which combines HP CloudSystem Matrix(2) and HP Cloud Service Automation software for unified building and management of cloud services across private, public and hybrid models. To enhance demonstration capabilities, partners now have the option to add HP Networking products, including HP TippingPoint security offerings, and HP 3PAR Utility Storage solutions to their cloud demonstration centers.

HP also works with channel partners to build cloud ecosystems including independent software vendor applications for specific markets and customer needs. HP channel partners have access to HP Cloud Maps, which are tested and proven configurations for popular applications such as Microsoft® Exchange. The configurations can be imported directly into CloudSystem to rapidly build a cloud services catalog for client businesses. HP plans to include channel partner participation in a broader CloudSystem community to share and sell Cloud Map services.

“The Cloud Center of Excellence gives customers insight into the benefits of cloud, such as accelerated service delivery and operational efficiency,” said Marc Sarazin, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing at AdvizeX Technologies based in Burlington, Mass. “As a result, we are able to play a strategic role in helping customers transform their business, increase revenue streams and expand opportunities in new areas.”

A link to a video about the Cloud Centers of Excellence is included here.

Services for the enterprise cloud life cycle
HP positions partners for success in the cloud market with a rich services portfolio to sell and deliver. The services help partners address each step in customer cloud strategy, from creating a vision to designing, implementing, managing and enhancing cloud solutions. As a result, channel partners may achieve higher customer satisfaction by demonstrating the value of cloud to transform business.

HP also announced the availability of HP Cloud Discovery Workshop for partners to sell, along with plans to expand partners’ role in delivering the service. Throughout 2011 and beyond, HP plans to make additional partner-ready services available for partners to help customers as they move forward with their cloud strategies.

In addition to the HP Critical Advantage service that partners can sell today, upcoming cloud design and delivery services will enable partners to help create additional value through faster deployment, greater availability and better business performance for cloud solutions.

Cloud computing is an important and growing platform for Instant-On Enterprises, where everything and everyone is connected. Instant-On Enterprises require IT environments that are flexible, automated and secure, and able to quickly adjust to changing demand.

HP’s new channel programs for cloud are initially available in the United States. More information for HP partners is available at www.hp.com/go/cloudpartner.

HP webOS ready to rock HP Partners at HP´s APC 2011.

WorldWideTech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

webOS is now the center of HP connectivy universe, an integrated ecosystem of devices and services linked together using webOS. This is HP new software strategy to start to come real, when HP launches the Veer this Spring and the TouchPad and Pre3 in June and continue allowing more hardware devices to play with in the webOS ecosystem.

HP have to communicate the value of the unique, abilities and strength of webOS to partners, investors and customers.

HP is expected to offer a concrete insight into how it will help partners from a business standpoint, at the HP´s Americas Partner Conference starting today Monday March 28 to March 30.

Many HP partners are still on the sidelines of mobility and the practices of many of those that have are still in a fledgling state.

The idea that work requires a full notebook PC is changing, so partners in the PC space need to make tablets at least part of their business, or they risk getting left behind, said Bob Venero, president and CEO of Future Tech Enterprise, a Holbrook, N.Y based HP partner.

HP CEO Leo Apotheker said:
“An ecosystem is not just consumer driven or fun apss, an ecosystem can also be enterprise or business apps”. “I would be delighted to see channel partners of HP bring some of their knowledge and create vertical mobile apps for webOS”

Stephen De Witt, senior VP of HP´s Americas Solution Partners Organization, says: “ the journey of webOS will be  an ongoing one that will span the next several years. As webOS grows and matures, HP will rely heavily on a development community: one that include partners, to extend the value proposition of webOS.”

Channel partners are already considering the business model shift that cloud computing necessitates. WebOS will also require adjustment and investment on the part of partners, but HP aware that the radical shift mobility represents might not be for everyone.

HP Americas Partner Conference 2011 webOS app.

If you would to follow the HP APC 2011 on your webOS device you can download the app from this link for your Palm Pre or Pixi:

IMO this event is crucial for webOS. If the HP partners who are around 2000 get the point of the HP strategy for connectivity on the business and enterprise sector using webOS on different form factors with special attention in tablets, then we can say HP will push the enough fuel to make webOS more efficient connected between devices.

In other words HP is risking their lives at this conference, for webOS.

You can also download APC apps for the following other brand devices:

Finger crossed
for the succeed of webOS in this great event.

From the  HP APC 2011:

This year, we’re bringing a new element to the conference: a free mobile app that will help you get the most out of your experience at APC. With this app, you can easily access your personalized calendar to keep track of where you need to be—and when you need to be there. You’ll find maps of the conference venue and Partner Exchange, and bios on our keynote speakers.

The app features our Twitter and Flickr "social buzz" from the event, and you can even retrieve and store contact information for the people you meet using the e-business card feature. All you’ll need to do is search for your new contacts’ last names, and then you can download their information directly to your phone (provided partners have “opted in” to this feature when they registered for APC).

It’s easy to install the app on your phone, just follow the download instructions below for your device.
