HP is announcing the ElitePad 900 enterprise-ready tablet. Business people will love its sleek beauty, and IT managers will love its security, manageability and serviceability.

And HP's Ajay Gupta shows a new business tablet from HP, the ElitePad 900. The tablet also features Smart Jackets which allow users to customize their tablet computing experience.

Is HP`s Todd Bradley hinting  webOS tablets on the HP`s tablets roadmap?

In a recent  Q&A  session made at the HP Global Influencer Summit 2012, held over two days in Shanghai last week, the first question asked of Mr Todd Bradley, head of HP's newly merged Personal and Printing Systems (PPS) Group, was about tablets, he dropped hints that there may be more to its tablet strategy that the world has yet to see.

"That's not to say that (our stated strategy) is forever. I think it's clear that the market's evolved, the market's changed," he said. "I think when we announce the roadmap for tablets you'll see a very compelling solution set that the tablet becomes part of."

HP's senior vice-president for the Asia-Pacific region for the PPS group, Mr Dion Wiesler  echoed Todd Bradley saying:

"I think what we've learned about tablet devices are that they benefit from three key things. Always on, always connected, thin and light, long battery life,"

Sounds like a webos tablet on HP`s roadmap . After all we take HP`s CEO Meg Whitman word :

 HP wanted to clarify that Whitman said HP could make WebOS-powered tablets in 2013.

While we know that HP is ceasing development of WebOS in phones, it’s interesting that the company is continuing to bet on the OS in tablets, said techcrunch.

With respect to whether HP can be a consumer and an enterprise company, Whitman believes that the company can continue to do both and says that the company’s current strength is that it is able to be successful in both product areas. “If you ask any guy on the street about what HP is known for, it would be computers,” she says, in an interview made  by techcrunch

Todd Bradley webOS shut down: Unfounded Rumor.

We continue to invest  on webOS software , we recent update webOS to millions of webOS users out there that have webos products, Todd Bradley said.

When Bloomberg West TV host Emily Changbrought up today’s report that HP was moving to shut down the webOS Global Business Unit in the very near future, Bradley responded that it was “an unfounded rumor,” and that HP has “phenomenal software and phenomenal talent” in the webOS GBU that they need to utilize more effectively.

Besides HP is not spinning off the PC PSG division, the inevitable question was “what are you to do with webOS”?

Meg Whitman indicated, for instance, that webOS, which H.P. was incorporating into servers as well as tablets, will continue to play a role. “We’re still working through webOS, still haven’t gotten to ground,” Ms. Whitman said. “It is part of our cloud strategy. Stay tuned.”

Todd Bradley, the head of the PC unit, did not say whether H.P. would re-enter the tablet market with webOS. The company currently sells a tablet that uses Microsoft software. He said the “effective price” for the tablet is $300, adding that “the challenge is building that out.”

Well, we know now they are working on how to get parts and components that work and can reach a competitive tablet price for a 16GB wi-fi version with a $300.- price tag.

Bradley also said that he, CEO Meg Whitman Lesjack, and former Palm CEO and current HP VP Jon Rubinstein are working “as quickly as we can to make the right decisions about webOS,” with Whitman adding that they'll make a decision about “the long-term future of webOS within in HP over the next couple of months.”

Whitman did note that HP could find use for webOS in HP business other than the PSG, saying that “we have to make a more holistic decision around webOS.”

“It’s not going to be easy,” said Michael Mullaney, who helps manage $9.5 billion, including Hewlett-Packard shares, at Fiduciary Trust in Boston. “They have to go back and redefine what they want to be as a company, go back to the drawing board.”

Apotheker’s ouster would leave the board looking for a leader who can do a better job helping Hewlett-Packard weather a personal-computer slump while pushing further into the market for products that deliver computing services over the Web. CEO candidates may also include Todd Bradley, who runs Hewlett- Packard’s PC unit, and David Donatelli, head of the business in charge of servers, storage and networking, said Jayson Noland, an analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co. in San Francisco.

Other possible candidates that would make sense include Gary Moore, chief operating officer of Cisco Systems Inc., or Steve Mills, who runs the software unit at International Business Machines Corp., said Shaw Wu, an analyst at Sterne Agee & Leach Inc. in San Francisco.

Hewlett-Packard’s board plans to consider firing Apotheker, two people familiar with the matter said yesterday. It may appoint former EBay Inc. (EBAY) CEO Meg Whitman, a Hewlett-Packard director, to serve as an interim leader, said one of the people. 

Board Discussions

Hewlett-Packard directors met yesterday in committees and will gather today as a full board, according to a person close to the situation. Directors are concerned about the stock price and its lack of improvement under Apotheker’s leadership, the person said. Some top Hewlett-Packard executives also opposed the acquisition of Autonomy Corp., a deal pushed by Apotheker, according to the person.

Hewlett-Packard, based in Palo Alto, California, jumped $1.51, or 6.7 percent, to $23.98 yesterday on the New York Stock Exchange after Bloomberg reported the possible management change. The stock is still down 44 percent since Apotheker, 58, became CEO on Nov. 1, compared with the 1.5 percent decline in the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index.

A new CEO would be Hewlett-Packard’s seventh leader since 1999, when Carly Fiorina took over from Lewis Platt. Fiorina departed in 2005 and was replaced on an interim basis by Robert Wayman, until the company named Mark Hurd to the top job. After Hurd resigned, Cathie Lesjaktook the reins temporarily until Apotheker came aboard.

In an interview made by CNBC Tomorrow´s Tech Titans at CES 2011 to HP Todd Bradley  Executive VicePresident of  Personal Systems, he  hints about webos devices, that will announce in February 9th.

“So we’ve announced February 9th we have a broad public set of announcements, broadly about the future of webOS and the breath of products that it’ll enable.”

“As we think about how that enables everything from smartphones to tablets to PCs to potentially other large screen devices, we see an enormous opportunity, both for ourselves and for our customers, to get the best web experience, the best content experience, that they can.”
