Rumor: iPad3 first batch may be stock limited, to ramp up Q2 2012.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

Apple may not unable to ramp up the supply of its next-generation iPads (iPad 3), which are expected to be launched at a company event on March 7, due to insufficient supply of high resolution displays, according to industry sources in the supply chain.

The new iPad, which reportedly will come in 16GB and 32GB versions, will continue to be equipped with 9.7-inch panels but with a display resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels (264ppi) compared to the previous standard of 1024 by 769 pixels.

Although Apple has chosen Sharp to replace Chimei Innolux (CMI) as one of its three suppliers for the high resolution (QXGA) panels - in addition to LG Display and Samsung Electronics, the whole supply chain has failed to substantially ramp up the supply of QXGA panels.
.
As a result, iPad 2 will remain the mainstream in shipments in the most part of the first quarter before shipments of iPad 3 start gaining momentum in the second quarter.

Apple Inc is hosting a media event next Wednesday, where it is expected to unveil a faster, better-equipped version of its popular iPad tablet to thwart increasing competition from deep-pocketed rivals such as Amazon.com Inc.

The invitation-only event will be held at 1 p.m. EST (1800 GMT) on March 7 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, where the company also introduced the last two generations of iPads.

The third iteration of a device that has helped put pressure on demand for traditional laptops and computers is expected to boast a faster, quad-core processor and a higher-definition screen.

Some analysts and industry experts expect 4G wireless capability, ensuring that the iPad remains current as cutting-edge broadband technology from Verizon Wireless and other carriers gains momentum. Verizon Wireless is a venture of Verizon Communications Inc and Vodafone Group Plc .

“The picture is zoomed in on an icon and I don’t see any pixels in that icon,” Avi Greengart, analyst at Current Analysis, said, underscoring how industry experts pick apart even Apple’s communiques for hints of what to expect.

“You don’t need exceptional foresight to guess that Apple is likely looking at a higher resolution display.”
Based on the latest rumors the iPad 3 might come with a Apple A6 Quad-Core cpu, 8 mpxls rear camera, 1GB RAM, Retina Display, SIRI Ai, 4G.

March 2012: SIRI a not missing app for the iPad3.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

Apple has a habit of waiting a cycle of one year to launch a new version of its existing products.The iPad 2 was launched in March 2011.

Thus, in March 2012 will see the new version iPad3.

Also Apple to renew its products per year, also updates its software and includes new applications and services to them.

Another custom is to include some important Apple first application on their iPhones, as it did with the iPhone 4S with SIRI.

Therefore, we believe with great confidence that SIRI will undoubtedly included in the iPad3 no doubt.

In an earlier report WE said that Apple and Sharp are working together to include in the new generation iPad3 screens, high definition, with a compound of indium IGZO technology, galliumand zinc to achieve 330 dpi which is enough for an HD display, allowing IPS need not and do not have to include a dual-type back light LED bar.

This new technology has several design advantages, the iPad3 can be thinner than the iPad2, the battery life will be longer and significantly improved performance for the user.

Other specifications as the iPad 3 is 4G LTE, has a quad-core processor, a digital 8 camera and a front mpxls 2 mpxls and 1GB of RAM to be seen and confirmed.

Marzo 2012: SIRI aplicación infaltable en la nueva iPad3.

WorldWide Tech & Science.

Apple and Sharp to Get Thinner iPad 3.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

Peter Misek, at Jefferies & Co., wrote in a note to investors Tuesday: Apple is dealing Sharp into its iPad and iPhone business in a big way,  Misek believes Sharp began production of high resolution displays for the next iPad began two weeks ago, and that Sharp will help build displays for the next-generation iPhone 5.

To that end, Misek asserts the Cupertino, Calif.-based Mac maker has purchased between $500 million and $1 billion worth of manufacturing equipment for Sharp’s Gen 6 Kameyama manufacturing facility, which will be dedicated to building displays for iPads and iPhones:

Apple and Sharp together could have  a modified IGZO  (indium, gallium,  zinc) technology to achieve 330 dpi, which is sufficient for an HD display while not using IPS nor having to include dual-bar LED backlighting.

This should lead to  several design advantages, namely the device can be thinner, battery life should be  longer, and the overall experience for users should be meaningfully improved.

The deal Misek describes between Apple and Sharp would account for a big chunk of Apple’s $8 billion capital budget for its current fiscal year. The $8 billion figure, revealed in Apple’s latest annual report, is a 73% increase from the $4.6 billion it spent during its 2011 fiscal year.

Analysts believe Apple buys and owns the key equipment used to build Apple products at its supplier’s facilities. So Apple’s capital spending budget hint the company thinks iPhone and iPad sales will continue booming.

Samsung , LG and Sharp shipped 1 million panels displays for iPad3.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

Samsung Electronics, LG Display and Sharp reportedly shipped a total of one million units of high-resolution flat panels for next-generation iPads to Apple in October and will ramp up shipments to two million units in November.

With the specifications of touch modules for the new iPad are comparable to those set for iPad 2, touch module makers TPK Holding and Wintek are expected to begin shipping their products to Apple in Mid-November to December, the Taiwan sources indicated, adding that combined shipments from the two companies will top over one million units a month.

Judging from the shipments of panels and related parts, Apple's contract maker Foxconn Electronics is expected to start assembling the new iPads in January 2012.

Meanwhile, Apple is also reportedly developing a new panel in 7.85-inch size, and AU Optronics (AUO) and LG Display have already delivered samples to Apple for verification. But it remains to be seen if Apple will expand the members for its next-generation iPad.

iPad3: Apple likely to adopt dual-LED back light bars and LCD panels higher than 2048x1536.

WorldWide Tech & SCience. Roberto Gómez.

LED back-light unit (BLU) vendors have reportedly offered two alternative backlight solutions for Apple to choose from for its next-generation iPad, according to sources at Taiwan-based BLU makers.

With the next-generation iPads expected to adopt LCD panels with resolutions higher than 2048 by 1536, the current single LED light bar designed for the iPad 2 has to be modify in order to maintain or strengthen the brightness of the panels, the sources explained.

One of the new LED light bar designs has proposed to keep the light bar in a single-bar form factor but with two LED chips inside; the other has suggested using dual-LED light bars, the sources indicated.

Apple is likely to adopt the design using dual light bars, the sources asserted, adding that BLU makers have solved issues related heat dissipation and battery consumption for the dual light bar design.

2012: Apple to overhaul all product lines. iPad,iMac, iPhone and MB Air.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

Apple plans to completely overhaul its product lineups, including iPad, iMac, iPhone and MacBook Air, in 2012 and is expected to finalize order volumes for key parts and components for the next-generation iPad in December, according to sources in the upstream supply chain.

Inventory of key parts and components for the next-generation iPads will be sufficient enough for the production of two million units by year-end 2011, the sources pointed out.

Apple has asked makers in the supply chain to develop flat panel modules and LED light bars for two iPad prototypes, codenamed J1 and J2, the sources revealed.

TPK Holdings will begin to supply touch panels to Apple in November before Wintek starts shipping comparable models in December, added the sources.

However, the next-generation iPhone and iMac are unlikely to be revealed until the second half of 2012, the sources added.
