While it might not be saying it directly, we're pretty darn confident that it's a bit of a dig at Apple's Maps misplacing Mildura and raising the ire of the Victorian police,Samsung made marketing hay with the Galaxy S3 while the sun beat down on Apple, says CNET Australia

London: Samsung and Carphone Warehouse roll out Galaxy S3 pop-up internet cafès.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

London: Samsung and Carphone Warehouse roll out Galaxy S3 pop-up internet cafès.

The company is set to launch two pop-up stores in London at the time of the smartphone's release, that is  May 30th.

The ‘Samsung Mobile PIN' will come to Westfield in Shepherd's Bush and Old Spitalfields Market.

Samsung say the stores will offer "an immersive, premium pop-up experience", as customers browse the manufacturer's smartphones, tablets, TVs, notebooks and digital cameras.

"We've focused on providing our customers with the opportunity to discover the best new technology available while demonstrating how our products interact together". says Samsung.

Cashing in on the Olympics build-up as well as the S3 launch, the stores will host a series of events including the chance to meet Olympic athletes.

The phone is set to launch on the 30th of May across the United Kingdom. All the major mobile phone networks (including Talkmobile) have confirmed that they will be stocking the handset. The Galaxy S3 is available from £500 on SIM Free and from £26 per month on Pay Monthly.

Carphone Warehouse has launched the world's first ever smartphone-powered pop-up internet cafe at its flagship store on Oxford Street, London.

The cafe, which will be open for the next two days this week (Tuesday and Wednesday), has replaced the store computers with Galaxy S3 handsets - while the devices themselves will be available to buy in-store from Thursday.

The facility allows customers to play with one of Samsung's ‘PC power' Galaxy S3 smartphones before they officially go on sale in the UK. Spicing up the affair, one lucky visitor will win an S3 of their own each day.

The internet cafe will run from 10am until 8pm GMT on Tuesday, and 8am until 4pm GMT on Wednesday, so get down there if you're interested.

The Galaxy S3 has been the fastest selling product ever at Carphone Warehouse and the retailer has offered the handset on preorder with £75 worth of freebies. Samsung also rolled out pop-up stores across London at some of the most popular commercial locations in town.

Samsung Galaxy III (3) with 4.8 inch display and ceramic chassis.

Accoding to slashgear the Samsung Galxy III will come with a 4.8 inch display and a ceramic chassis. Super AMOLED Plus likely offering at least 720p HD is probably on the cards, and with just 7mm thick.

The Korean company is tipped to be hoping to launch the Galaxy S III in more than 50 “markets or cities” at the same time, according to the tipsters.

Other rumored specifications are HSPA+ connectivity, along with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC, together with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8 mpxls rear camera and Full HD video recording. HDMI output is also expected, likely through a microUSB port supporting MHL-HDMI. Ice Cream Sandwich seems almost a given, though we imagine Samsung will find it tough to resist adding a few TouchWiz-style tweaks to the UI.

MWC 2012: Rumors: Samsung Galaxy III (3) coming in two versions, dual-core and quad-core.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

If Eldar Murtazin is to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy S III will come in both dual-core and quad-core iterations and feature 12-megapixel cameras. What's more, the phones are said to run Android 4.0 with a "tweaked" UI, likely Samsung's TouchWiz, and feature an HD display. Assuming the latter is true, we might expect to see a similar screen size (4.5 inches and above) and resolution (1,280x720 pixels) as the Galaxy Nexus.

There is mention as to how much memory or storage is included in the next-generation smartphone, but rumors have been floating around for some time. With numbers that range from as low as 1GB RAM and 16GB storage to as outlandish as 2GB RAM and 64GB storage, it's tough to say for sure.

Samsung Galaxy III (3) concept phone.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

The next generation: the Samsung Galaxy S III in concept.

Concept Phones, a blog that specializes in conceptual renderings of devices, has intercepted a couple of images and some details sent in from a fellow by the name of Ivan Ilchenko who reported them appearing on Samsung’s “official” page on a Russian social network by the name of Vkontakte.

The device concept may well be the first smartphone to be dual-booting Android and Bada OS right out of the box.

Specifications:

Front-facing 2 megapixel camera, availability of 32 or 64 GB internal memory, and a microSDXC slot for memory expansion. This device is said to come with a stylus like the Galaxy Note, but doesn’t appear to have the same onboard slot for carrying said pen.

USB 3.0 capability, and 4G LTE connectivity.

A quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 1.5GHz processor, and the whole thing works with TouchWiz 5.0.

“Samsung Russia said this is not a real phone. "The mock-ups, published in the article on Concept-Phones.com, were posted in the “Imagined Phones” section of “Samsung Phones Owners’ Club” group on VKontakte.ru. This section contains unofficial artworks and designs, created by group members, and are products of pure imagination, sometime even a joke”.” – Concept Phones
