Canada: Rogers exclusive with the SONY Xperia ion.

Sony announced that the Xperia ion will be coming to Canada.

This is the manufacturers first LTE-enabled smartphone. In their press release they noted that the 1.5 dual-core, OS 4.0 powered, device will “be available through various Canadian wireless carriers and authorized national retailers” sometime in July.

However, only one carrier has stepped up to the plate an declared plans to launch it, that being Rogers.

There could be a reason for this. According to an internal doc Mobilesyrup received it states that Rogers is “pleased to announce the device will be coming soon exclusively to Rogers.”
