The two versions of the HP webOS Touchpad 16GB and 32GB Wi_Fi are now available for pre-order on Amazon at $499.99  and $599.99  and announcing a release date July 1st as well.

Amazon showed before the TouchPad availability for July 15 or 17th, but now the date is changed for July 1st.

DJ/House music producer David Guetta Partners with HP for webOS Touchpad

 My Love Affair, a company just launched by Cathy Guetta and Raphael Aflalo, is rolling out an international marketing effort for HP (NYSE: HPQ) featuring David Guetta in a cross-media campaign.

Starting fall of 2011, the famous DJ producer will showcase the HP TouchPad throughout several marketing activities, including a TV commercial ,print and billboard advertising, which will be the backbone of the marketing campaign designed by My Love Affair.

David Guetta will also develop his own mixing application allowing fans to access exclusive content.

The artist's involvement in the launch will not stop there – the HP TouchPad, running HP’s webOS operating system, will also appear in his next two videos. This exposure will be especially important for HP, since David Guetta's videos are viewed an average of 100 million times on his YouTube channel, not to mention the many times they run on TV around the world.

David Guetta is one of the most active artists on social networks, with 20 million fans on Facebook and more than 1.3 million followers on Twitter. He will inform his fans regularly about events related to his partnership with HP through posts and tweets.

Who is David Guetta ?

David Guetta (French pronunciation: [daˌviːd ɡooɛˈtta], born 7 November 1967) is a French house music producer and DJ. Originally a DJ at nightclubs during the 1980s and 1990s, he co-founded Gum Productions and released his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2001. Later, he released Guetta Blaster (2004) and Pop Life (2007). 

His 2009 album One Love included the hit singles "When Love Takes Over" (featuring Kelly Rowland), "Gettin' Over You" (featuring Chris Willis, Fergie & LMFAO) and "Sexy Bitch" (featuring Akon), the last becoming a top five hit in the US and all three reaching #1 in the UK, as well as another internationally known single called "Memories" featuring Kid Cudi which became a top five hit in many countries.

2011–present: Nothing But the Beat

When asked about his fifth album, Guetta announced it would be released in September 2011. The French DJ recently admitted that his new sound is inspired by rock bands such as Kings of Leon and Coldplay:


 "I might make dance music but that doesn't mean I'm not influenced by bands like Kings of Leon and Coldplay," he told the Daily Star, "Right now I'm planning coming back with a new sound for my next album due out in summer 2011."^[17] In January 2011, Guetta recorded teenage viral video star Keenan Cahill lip-syncing to a mix of his songs.^[18] On 25 March 2011, Guetta gave his first interview about his upcoming fifth album. 


The as-of-yet untitled set will feature previous collaborators Akon and will.i.am as well as several new ones such as Timbaland, Dev, Ne-yo and Britney Spears. Amongst the songs featured on the album will be "Little Bad Girl" with Ludacris and Taio Cruz.^[19] Another song from the album, "Where Them Girls At" features Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj. Both records are different, one is distinctly more European sounding, while the other is more geared to the United States. Guetta said the label could not decide which record to release.^[19] 


Minaj was a last-minute addition to "Where Them Girls At". "Where Them Girls At" is the first single of the album and was released worldwide on 2 May 2011 after an unfinished version leaked online.^[20][21] "Little Bad Girl" will be released as the second single on June 28, 2011.^[22][23] The instrumental club version of the song was released on June 20, 2011.^[24] On June 22, 2011 it was announced that Guetta's fifth studio album, Nothing But the Beat will be released on August 30, 2011. It will feature collaborations with Usher, will.i.am, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Jennifer Hudson, Sia, Timbaland, and Dev.^[23]

Exclusive: Nokia introduced first Windows Phone. Code name Sea Ray.

Stephen Elopak, Nokia's CEO officialy announced in a company's employees event   the first Nokia mobile Windows phone Mango software code name Sea Ray.

 The design is completely the same as the MeeGO N9, in practice the difference is only so much that little else is on the back of the flash, appeared on the right side and a dedicated shutter button. (But The Same 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens)

 The home screen of Nokia WP7 first-gen phone includes phone, messaging, e-mail, browser, Xbox live and two other features. This indicates clearly that Nokia did not customize its first WP smartphone to differentiate itself from other manufacturers.

It is noteworthy that the device shown by Stephen Elop, the chief executive officer of Nokia, was similar to Nokia N9, the current flagship of the company. Earlier rumours indicated that the company used Nokia X7 platform for development of its first Windows Phone-based device.

And 854*480 resolution screen (something not confirmed, but something that is logical given the fact that WP does not seem to require high resolution)

The webOS Developer Program enhancements also include a new discount structure. Developers will have access to this pricing model based on their years in the Palm developer program and active applications in the webOS App Catalog.

Sony Ericsson announces two new Xperia smartphones.

New devices will be available from third quarter of this year.

Handset maker Sony Ericsson Tuesday announced two new additions to its Xperia smartphone portfolio.

The Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson and Sony Corp. joint venture said that the two new additions, the Xperia ray and the Xperia active, will be available from the third quarter this year.

The Xperia Active is a dust-proof and water-resistant device, with a dual-core cpu, while the Xperia Ray is a 9.4 millimeter thick device sporting a 8.1 megapixel camera.

Sony Ericsson also announced that Xperia users in the U.S., France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, U.K., Australia and New Zealand will be given access to Sony's recently announced "Music Unlimited" service, a cloud-based, digital music service that allows streaming access to 7 million licensed songs from major record labels.

It also said its Xperia Play handset, which includes gaming functionality from Sony's PlayStation console, has been made available across more markets in the Asia Pacific region.

Yahoo approached Hulu on possible acquisition.

Yahoo Inc. recently approached online video service Hulu LLC about a possible acquisition, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday on its website, citing a person with knowledge of the matter.

The Wall Street Journal Wednesday reported Hulu's board is weighing whether to sell itself after having been approached with an unsolicited offer, citing people familiar with the matter.

LTE: USA: Cricket will launch its first 4G LTE network in Tucson.

Cricket announced that it will launch its first 4G LTE network in Tucson, Arizona. Cricket is joining the race to offer faster broadband to customers in an attempt to stay in touch with industry leading competitors such as Verizon. 

Earlier this year, Leap Wireless CEO Doug Hutcheson, owner of Cricket, had stated that it would launch its 4G network after it had found a roaming agreement with LightSquared. 

However, Cricket does not plan to provide 4G LTE mobile devices (feature phones, smartphones or tablets) just yet as they were judged too expensive to fit in Cricket’s product catalogue.

 Cricket’s first focus will be USB modems for laptops and desktops and it will start proposing LTE phones only when “they are thin and cheap enough, and have decent battery life,” said Matt Stoiber, Cricket’s vice president for Device Development, according to PCmag.

There is not an official invitation card leaked around the web yet, but MEDIANONERR wrote :

"We’re off to the HP TouchPad launch party on June 27, where we’ll get to snap some pictures and have a play on the final version of the webOS 3.0-powered tablet device."

 No clues where the event will take place and at what time. But if you received an HP official invitation, just e-mail us , we will thank you a million.

Last night there was a HP TouchPad event organized by Pepcom.

The guy who made the video, posted it on his blog. Here what he wrote about his experience:

I attended the Digital Experience last night in NYC and it was all about tablets. I got a great demo from HP of the upcoming HP TouchPad. I also got to spend some hands-on time with the world's first webOS tablet. It's very sleek, feels great in the hand, and it's very fast. webOS looks and works great on the big screen. After picking up the TouchPad there was no learning curve like I've experienced from many Honeycomb tablets.

Card View on the TouchPad is amazing, the larger screen REALLY makes it shine! webOS still has the best multitasking feature on any mobile OS.

 If you love Card View on a webOS smartphone you will be in love with it on the TouchPad. Kindle for webOS looked stunning. 

The TouchPad on TouchStone looked and worked incredibly well. Exhibition Mode looks and works extremely well. I mentioned ( I mentioned my idea of a TouchStone in every box .) Many people agreed that it would be a great way to have the full experience as the first experience. Tap To Share will make you want a Pre 3. I was told support for the Veer will be coming.

I'm really hoping HP gets the message across that this isn't another "me too" tablet. It's an outstanding tablet running one of, if not the best and most intuitive tablet OS'. Touch it, you'll be glad ya did!
