According to a VentureBeat report, HP was asking $1.2Billion for webos and other Palm´s assets, during the negotiations with bidders in this yet year 2011 , in order to at least recuperate the initial investement.
Apparently after the not success of the TouchPad and the Veer and Pre3 devices the bidders were expecting a lower price.
HP finally decided to open source webOS.
It seems that HP is either a terrible negotiator or never really wanted to let go of webOS in the first place.

2012: Google Nexus tablet will affect sales of branded Android 4.0 tablets PCs vendors.
Google's plan to release its own tablet, the Google Nexus, in the next six months may cause conflict with branded PC vendors who are cooperating with Google to launch Ice Cream Sandwich-based tablet PCs in the first half of 2012, according to sources at the PC industry in Taiwan.
Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt revealed the company's roadmap for the Google Nexus during a recent interview with the media in Italy.
A major concern of the local PC industry is that the Google Nexus is likely to run on Android 4.1, while those Ice Cream Sandwich models to be rolled out in the first half of 2012 are to be powered by Android 4.0 - a development which is likely to cause deferred effects in the purchase of Android tablet PCs by consumers, the sources argued.
Asustek Computer has launched Android 4.0 tablet PCs, with Acer and Lenovo to release comparable models in early 2012, the sources indicated. Those Android 4.0 models can be upgraded to Android 4.1 when the new OS is available.
However, the dominance of iPads in the tablet PC market and the successful launch of low-priced Kindle Fires and Nook Tablets have forced some PC vendors to review their strategies for their tablet PC lines.
Acer's recent decision to revamp its product lineups aiming to cut its product lines by two-thirds in three years will serve as a warning to the tablet PC industry.

Despite the Samsung Galaxy S is not on the list of Samsung´s smartphones to get the ICS Android 4.0 update yet, although there is a word from Samsung about it:
The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been successfully ported to the Galaxy S thanks to the developers over at XDA, as you can watch on the video below:

The ICS-running Galaxy S is not Galaxy Nexus-smooth, but it’s certainly decent, so there’s no problem adapting this for everyday usage. And the whole update process only takes about half an hour, so you can apply it in your lunch break.

Third parties are expected to begin bringing paid DLC content to 3DS titles by summer. Wii U will also have paid DLC support.
3DS sales exceed 4 million in Japan: Enterbrain (via Famitsu) reports that Nintendo 3DS sales in Japan have exceeded 4 million units in only 10 months. The Nintendo DS, by comparison, reached 5 million units in its first 13 months, but it had two holiday seasons to boost those sales. Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 have each sold more than 1 million copies.
iPad: UK to run the country using an application for that, well almost.
WorldWide Tech &Science. Francisco De Jesús.
LONDON (AP) — Britain's government says experts are considering developing a bespoke iPad app that would deliver key data straight to Prime Minister David Cameron's tablet computer.
Officials said Wednesday that the idea is being discussed, though Cameron's Downing Street office declined to comment on the details.
The Times of London newspaper reported the app could include statistics and information from government departments, real time news and Twitter updates.
Cameron has previously discussed his affection for his iPad, but acknowledged he needed "a little bit of help from someone in IT" to set up the gadget.
The British chief has frequently championed the country's technology sector and hailed the so-called Silicon Roundabout cluster of digital companies in east London.

Microsoft to demo the Samsung SUR40 Surface 2.0 at the NRF in NY.
Microsoft will be showcasing the Surface 2.0 multi-touch systems, a k a the Samsung SUR40, at the National Retail Federation show in New York in mid-January.
However, it’s not clear whether NRF, which kicks off on January 16, 2012, in New York City, will coincide with the start of the shipments from Samsung.
Microsoft announced in mid-November that Samsung had begun taking pre-orders for the SUR40, which will ultimately ship in 23 countries. They also acknowledged the list price was $8,900. Earlier this year, Microsoft and Samsung had said to expect the system to be priced around $7,600.
The SUR40 can be used as a table, a wall-mountable and/or vertical/horizontal kiosk. It features a 40-inch HD 1080p screen and is four inches thin (including the glass, PC and enclosure). The system runs an embedded version of 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. Microsoft introduced a software-development kit for the Surface 2.0 in July 2011. The SUR40 relies on PixelSense — which uses the pixels of the screen itself to act as cameras to capture objects placed on the surface.
Microsoft officials have been touting the potential appeal of the Surface 2.0, alongside the Xbox and Kinect, in healthcare, retail, and other verticals.

The device prototype comes with the 3.0.5 webOS version and a dual core processor 1.5Ghz with a front camera and 5 mpxls rear camera with led flash a sim card slot and 1GB RAM. Sad for webOS fans , it did not see the light.
webOS new Hardware is not on the HP road map for 2012 but maybe for 2013.
