webOS 2.0 Reveals Retina Display Resolution Coming to Palm/HP Device

Recently, webOS 2.0 was spotted in the application logs of a foursquare developer. The foursquare API is open source and thus, could technically be used to give fake log readings.

However, some more logs were recently spotted that show the same Retina Display screen resolution of 640 x 960 pixels. This time the logs came from a close source application which further strengthens the rumour that HP/Palm could be launching a device with a retina display resolution.

The reason we just say resolution and not pixel density is because it isn't clear if the high resolution comes from a smartphone device with a smaller screen, or if it comes from a large screened tablet device. If it comes from a tablet then the resolution isn't as impressive, but should it be a 3.5 to 4 inch screen then we will be seeing some high resolution screens on future devices.

We'll just need to see where this one goes as it isn't clear just yet what the device is and when it will be launching, if at all.
