The Finnish company HMD Global is about to launch its first absolute high-end smartphone under the Nokia brand. After several references to the first top model with Android, the name is now fixed: it will be the Nokia 8 , as we have learned from reliable sources. The top smartphone is of course not cheap.
The smartphone developed by HMD Global with the already more frequently looked at the model number TA-1004 , according to the data available to us from Scandinavian retailers, not as initially speculated many times the name Nokia 9. Instead, this device is the Nokia 8. The Nokia 8 is thus provisionally the best-equipped smartphone under the brand name Nokia, licensed by HMD Global.
The Nokia 8 TA-1004 was last several times in the data base of the benchmark software Geekbench dipped and distinguished itself, among other things, that according to this source is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octacore-SoC.
Qualcomm's eight-core chip achieves maximum clock speeds of up to 2.45 GHz with its four high-end cores. It is also used in a number of other top-of-the-range smartphones and is currently the top end of the Qualcomm CPU range.
The Nokia 8 will appear in Europe initially only in a variant on the market, which is equipped with four gigabytes of memory . The TA-1004 also has 64GB internal flash memory on board and also has basically two SIM card slots . Whether we are still other variants of the Nokia 8 are planned, we do not know at this time. However, it is to be assumed that HMD Global also plans a single-SIM-output, after all, this was also the case with the other new "Nokia" smartphones.
In addition, we can report that the phone comes in (at least) four color versions on the market. Specifically, expenditures are expected in " blue ", " steel " (silver?), " Gold / blue " and " gold / copper ".

So there should probably be two different, blue versions, although we are not sure whether other colors are to be expected. The Nokia 8 TA-1004 is not cheap. In Scandinavia, for example, prices below the 600 euro mark are to be expected, compared to 589 euros . In other countries, however, the price is likely to be lower, finally, in Scandinavia, there are quite high VAT rates.
With 550-600 euros, the Nokia 8 would fit quite seamlessly into the market for high-end smartphones.
Further concrete details on the device have so far hardly been available. For example, a video published by a Nokia designer has speculated for some time that a dual camera setup is planned. In addition, it is assumed that the Nokia 8 with a 5.7 inch large 2K display could offer - but this is different from our information on name, memory, colors and price for pure speculation.
From 31 July 2017 the Nokia 8 is expected to be available.
