Glasses-free 3D Ready For Primetime As
Ultra-D Debuts 4K Displays At International Winter Consumer Electronics
Show Central Hall Booth #8225
The Wait is Finally Over - Don't Miss the Global Premiere
of New 3D Without 4-eyes Technology at Stream TV Networks' Ultra-D Press
Conference, 10 am PT, Monday, Jan. 7, Mandalay Bay Level 3, South Seas
Ballroom
Stream TV Networks is proud to debut its proprietary Ultra-D™
2160p technology which features an Ultra-D™2160p powered display,
delivering the sharpest 3D experience outside of the cinema – no glasses
required.
The technology also incorporates the new Ultra-D™2160p
SeeCube™ real-time conversion set top box, which provides 2D to
3D-without-glasses and 3D-with-glasses to 3D-without-glasses content
conversion in resolutions up to true 2160p. Visitors to STREAM TV'S CENTRAL HALL BOOTH #8225
will witness the public debut of 31.5-inch and 60-inch Ultra-D 2160p
displays for the consumer market with Ultra-D glasses-free 3D content
demos showcasing movies, sports, animation, digital signage and video
game applications.
"Response to the literally breakthrough, scalable 3D viewing
experience made possible with our new Ultra-D 2160p technology, which
until now, has only been shown in private road show meetings, has been
incredible," said Stream TV Networks CEO Mathu Rajan. "We are excited about the first public showing and are ready to help usher in the next evolution in television."
Stream TV Networks first announced it had developed a groundbreaking
algorithm, which boosts existing content to deliver heightened
resolution to between 1080p and 2160p, at the IFA Trade Show in Berlin
in August, and will now show this pioneering glasses-free 3D
technology. The Ultra-D 2160p technology integrates a proprietary
hardware optical system to a 4K display allowing greater clarity and
resolution than ever before.
Ultra-D 2160p uses the disparity between
images to produce a higher resolution output than the source. This
allows for stunning glasses-free 3D without any viewing angles,
distortion or other restrictions using the Ultra-D 2160p 4K display.
Consumers can use any type of source content and convert it into
customized 3D without glasses – Cable and Satellite TV Channels,
Blu-ray®, Xbox®, iTunes®, Apple TV®, Google TV®, YouTube®, Netflix® and
other feeds.
Capitalizing on breakthroughs made while developing the 4K
technology, Stream TV Networks has also made significant advancements in
the optical system and SeeCube for its 1080p solution and will be unveiling the final production model with improved resolution and conversion technology, further enhancing the "ultra dimensional" viewing experience.
The Ultra-D 3D-without-glasses display technology was selected as an Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree by The Consumer Electronics Association in the Video Displays product category and will also be on display at SHOWSTOPPERS @ CES, Table A22, 6-10 pm, January 8 in the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel LaFite Ballroom.
Experience the future of 3D now, not 3-5 years away. (Video below)

CES2013 LG Begins Rollout Of Eagerly Anticipated OLED TV.
WorldWide Tech / Science. Francisco De Jesús.

LG Begins Rollout Of Eagerly Anticipated OLED TV
LG Ushers in New Year as First Company to Launch Sales of OLED TV
LG Electronics (LG) announced today that it will begin
accepting pre-orders for its eagerly-awaited 55-inch class (54.6-inch
diagonal) WRGB OLED TV (Model 55EM9700) in South Korea this month with deliveries scheduled to begin next month.
Other markets where the revolutionary LG OLED (Organic Light Emitting
Diode) TV will be available will be announced over the next several
weeks along with their respective prices. The announcement comes just
days before the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where an early
version of the TV last year was awarded "Best of Show."
More than 1,400 LG retail stores in South Korea will begin accepting orders from consumers for KRW 11 million (approximately US $10,000) TVs starting Jan. 3
with delivery to commence the first week of February. As the first and
only company to announce availability of the next-generation TV
technology, LG is prepared to ramp up quickly to take the lead in the
OLED segment that is expected to grow to 7.2 million units by 2016,
according to DisplaySearch.
"We are extremely pleased to be able to make this announcement at the
start of the new year because we believe that OLED will usher in a
whole new era of home entertainment," said Havis Kwon,
President and CEO of LG's Home Entertainment Company. "Not since color
TV was first introduced 60 years ago has there been a more
transformational moment. When high definition TV was first introduced 15
years ago, the public's reaction was 'wow!' but when customers see our
razor-thin OLED TV for the first time, they're left speechless. That's a
clear indicator as any that OLED TV is much more than just an
incremental improvement to current television technology."
Only 4 millimeters (0.16 inches) thin and weighing less than 10
kilograms (22 pounds), LG's OLED TVs produce astoundingly vivid and
realistic pictures thanks to its superior WRGB technology. LG's unique
Four-Color Pixel system features a white sub-pixel, which works in
conjunction with the conventional red, blue, green setup to create the
perfect color output. LG's exclusive Color Refiner delivers even greater
tonal enhancement, resulting in images that are more vibrant and
natural than anything seen before. The 55-inch OLED TV also offers an
infinite contrast ratio, which maintains optimal contrast levels
regardless of ambient brightness or viewing angle.
Even before its launch, LG's OLED TV was turning heads all over the
world. In addition to being named Best of Show at CES 2012, the
influential Industrial Designers Society of America recognized the TV
with a coveted IDEA Award. Meanwhile, LG received the European Display
Achievement 2012-2013 Award from the European Imaging and Sound
Association (EISA). And to cap it off, LG's OLED received Korea's Good
Design President Award in October.

CES2013: TI to demonstrate its innovative 3D time-of-flight image sensor chipset with SoftKinetic.
WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De
Jesùs.
TI to demonstrate its innovative 3D time-of-flight image sensor chipset with SoftKinetic at CES 2013.
Hardware/software collaboration aims to accelerate adoption of gesture control in TVs and PCs.
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) today announced it is collaborating with SoftKinetic®,
a leading provider of end-to-end 3D sensor and gesture recognition
middleware solutions, to grow adoption of gesture control in televisions
(TVs), personal computers (PCs), and a wide variety of other consumer
and industrial devices.
At the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show
(CES), TI will demonstrate its new 3D time-of-flight (ToF) image sensor
chipset, which integrates SoftKinetic's DepthSense® pixel technology
and runs SoftKinetic's iisu® middleware for finger, hand and full-body
tracking. The TI chipset is inside 3D cameras that control a laptop and a
smart TV to access and navigate movies, games and other content with
the wave of a hand. The TV demonstration also features TI's OMAP™ 5
processor, which powers an impressive natural user interface with robust
gesture recognition and full-HD graphics.
Both demonstrations will be showcased at CES 2013 in the TI Village, North Hall of the Las Vegas
Convention Center. "SoftKinetic has long believed that motion control
and gesture recognition is the future of user interfaces and digital
interactivity," said Michel Tombroff, chief executive officer of
SoftKinetic. "We are pleased to collaborate with TI to help bring this
technology into the mass market, and look forward to having our
technology impact the everyday lives of consumers."
Current 3D gesture recognition solutions lack real-time tracking and
suffer from poor sensitivity, which can cause sluggish performance. TI's
ToF chipset, featuring a 3D sensor employing SoftKinetic's
DepthSense pixel technology, overcomes this problem to deliver high
sensitivity and the real-time motion tracking responsiveness consumers
expect. The TI and SoftKinetic solution enables precise tracking of
finger, hand and full-body gestures. TI plans to follow its initial
products with a complete portfolio of solutions suitable for various
applications and form factors. For more information and to see a laptop
demonstration video, visit www.ti.com/3dtof-pr.
"There are a plethora of applications that can benefit from the accuracy and resolution of this technology," said Gaurang Shah,
vice president of Audio and Imaging Products at TI. "Imagine an end
equipment designer tilting, rotating, compressing and expanding a new
product in 3D to inspect and evaluate it on their PC before committing
to a hardware prototype. We believe our collaboration with SoftKinetic
will ignite more applications like this, and foster further technology
innovation to simplify the way we interact with machines."

CES2103: LG Announces Cinematic 100-inch Class Laser TV.
WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De

CES 2103: LG Announces Cinematic 100-inch Class Laser TV.
'HECTO' Laser-based Illumination System Delivers Full HD Picture, Creates Brilliant, Space-Saving Home Theater Experience.
LG Electronics (LG) announced
the launch of its 100-Inch class (100 inch diagonal) Laser TV featuring
both Smart TV and Digital TV capabilities.
An impressive home cinema system, the 100-inch class LG "HECTO" Laser
TV comprises a special screen and an external Ultra Short Throw (UST)
projection unit. The unique system, which will be demonstrated for the
first time next month at the 2013 International CES®, offers Full HD
1080p resolution and incredible contrast as a result of LG's advanced
laser-based illumination system.
"LG's 100-inch class Laser TV takes projection technology and makes
it perfectly suitable for both the boardroom and the living room," said Havis Kwon,
President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. "In
the coming year, LG will continue to introduce innovative TV products
to provide an outstanding productivity and entertainment experience for
our customers."
Brilliant Home Theater Experience
Between its picture quality and large screen, LG's 100-inch class
Laser TV offers an uncanny theater-like experience at home, but without
the difficult installation required by previous projector-based systems.
A standard projector system requires a considerable distance from the
screen to create a large image and typically needs to be installed on
the ceiling. However, LG's Laser TV makes installation and viewing
easier by allowing users to place the lens a mere 22 inches
(approximately 56 centimeters) from the screen, while having the
flexibility to position it near the floor or fasten it to the ceiling.
LG's Laser TV offers 1080p Full HD resolution and 1,000,000:1 dynamic
contrast ratio, rendering vivid and crisp images that pop out in dark as
well as lighter environments.
LG's Laser TV has a digital tuner and two 10W built-in speakers
embedded in the projection unit to support virtual surround sound for a
more authentic cinema experience at home. A complete complement of
inputs, including 3 HDMIs, allow for connection of other source devices.
An optical audio output, as well as RS-232 interface, will allow for
integration into virtually any home theater environment. The device
itself features LG's understated yet stylish Dynamic Arc Design,
creating subtly curved surfaces that reach a mere 5.7 inches in height.
The 100-inch class screen adopts LG's CINEMA SCREEN Design aesthetic
which limits the bezel and makes it suitable for any interior decor.
Smart TV Capabilities
The Laser TV supports LG's Smart TV platform, which includes a host
of impressive features, from built-in Wi-Fi, premium content providers,
like Netflix or YouTube, Smart World app store, to the easy-to-use Magic
Remote*. The system also allows consumers to manage personal content,
such as pictures, home videos and music libraries via USB or LG Cloud.
LG's Smart TV platform provides a customizable dashboard and smart
connectivity features that streamline access to content from compatible
smartphones, laptops, storage devices and the Internet. With built-in
WiDi and Wi-Fi direct (Miracast), content from any compatible external
device can be wirelessly shared with the TV. Navigation of services and
external devices via the dashboard is made easy with the Magic Remote
which utilizes four modes of control – voice, gesture, point and wheel.
Better Reliability
The laser-based illumination system uses specialized lamps embedded
in the projection unit, delivering superior picture quality. This system
can run for up to 25,000 hours without replacement, roughly five times
longer than mercury-based lamps.
*Smart TV devices include HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc Players and Network
Home Theater Systems. Internet connection and certain subscriptions
required and sold separately. Content and services vary by product and
are subject to change without notice.
*Designs, features and specification subject to change without notice

Press Release:
SEOUL, Dec. 20, 2012 -- LG Electronics (LG) will showcase its advanced digital sign-age lineup at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 8-11, 2013. The strong selection includes the flagship 55-inch 3D Video Wall, the 84-inch Ultra HD Multi-touch Signage, the EZ Sign TV, Smart Gate Media Pole, Smart Mirror and other leading commercial display solutions. LG recognizes the growing need for effective and efficient digital signage and is committed to developing a variety of products that incorporate cutting-edge IPS panels and Smart Energy Saving Technology.
“LG sees a bright future in the digital signage segment,” said Il-geun Kwon, Senior Vice President and Head of the IT Business Unit of the LG Home Entertainment Company. “We are proud to offer a superb range of products, capable of operating in diverse environments to meet a wide range of client needs. Our combination of IPS panels and Smart Energy Saving Technology offers the dual benefit of providing eye-catching images and significant energy savings.”
LG has repeatedly displayed its prowess in the digital signage arena, working with a number of prestigious international brands such as McDonald’s, KFC, Nike, Kia, Hyundai and Vodafone. The company has successfully implemented many large-scale projects, including the supply of nearly 18,000 digital signs to popular Canadian restaurant chain, Tim Hortons. LG’s signage solutions can be found in several of the world’s major transportation hubs, such as Incheon International Airport and Sydney International Airport. This year, the company will again wow CES visitors with digital signs that are impressive not only in scale, but in picture quality and energy efficiency as well.
3D Video Wall for Sheer Enormity of Scale
Once again, LG is set to be the talk of Las Vegas with its larger-than-life 3D Video Wall at its CES booth, an immense display consisting of an impressive 122 LG 55-inch WV70MD screens. With the world’s narrowest bezel-to-bezel measurement of just 5.3mm, the 3D Video Wall gives the viewer the impression that they are viewing a single enormous display. White balance for every screen can be automatically calibrated via factory-installed software to ensure perfectly uniform picture quality across all screens and IPS display technology provides vibrant, crisp pictures with a wide viewing angle.
And LG’s large-scale digital signage solution employs the company’s proprietary Smart Energy Saving Technology, allowing it to use approximately 30 percent less electricity than other commercial LED displays. This helps reduce power bills without compromising picture quality.
84-inch Ultra HD Multi-touch Signage for Engaging and Educating
LG’s impressive 84-inch Ultra HD Multi-touch Signage introduces the sharpness of Ultra HD to the B2B digital display market. At CES, LG’s massive five-point touch screens will enable users to interact with reproductions of masterpieces from the world’s most prestigious museums. An incredibly high pixel density means that even the most delicate brushstrokes can be viewed in great detail on the Ultra HD Multi-touch. In addition to zooming, rotating or writing onscreen messages with one’s fingers, LG’s 84-inch Ultra HD Multi-touch Signage is geared towards intuitive, natural interaction, making it ideal for a variety of commercial and educational applications.
EZ Sign TV and More
LG’s award-winning EZ Sign TV will also be exhibited at CES 2013. The EZ Sign TV was recognized by Commercial Integrator magazine for two consecutive years -- 2011 and 2012 -- for its ability to offer customized content layout. The versatile EZ Sign TV is suited to many tasks, including advertising, playing multimedia and displaying live broadcasts. LG’s slim, space-saving Smart Gate Media Pole, which is also ideal for marketing and advertising applications will be showcased along with the Smart Mirror; a display that functions as both a mirror and a monitor.
LG’s B2B Business Approach
The use of digital signage is on the rise and global sales is expected to grow to USD 9.5 million sets by 2016, a six-fold increase over 2009 according to DisplaySearch. LG’s signage solutions can be seen in a host of locations, performing a diverse range of functions, including advertising products and services, training students and professionals, aiding in government and corporate operations, or providing useful public information.
LG will also be exhibiting more flagship products at Europe’s most prestigious business-to-business tradeshow, Integrated Systems Europe 2013 (ISE) starting January 29 in Amsterdam.
