Olympus XZ-2, Nikon Coolpix S800c and Leica S2 cameras new firmwares.

Olympus XZ-2 v1.1 corrects issues when shooting with ISO bracketing enabled. The firmware is available through Olympus' Digital Camera Updater application.

The Android-based Nikon Coolpix S800c compact, meanwhile, has now received its second firmware update, and two issues are corrected. With version 1.2 firmware installed, geotags recorded when GPS was enabled don't intermittently show the wrong location. Also, a curious problem whereby the date and time was recorded incorrectly for images shot between camera powerup and display of the Playback button has been resolved.

Leica S2 firmware v1.0.4.2 enables use of the camera body with S-mount lenses that have central shutters. It also readies the camera for with use with the Leica Super-Elmar-S 24 mm f/3.5 ASPH. and Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90 mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. lenses announced recently at Photokina, and prevents the camera overriding your chosen shutter speed when the metering system determines that you've exceeded the exposure range. The latest firmware also improves white balance in concert with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. To obtain the update, customers must first register their camera, and then log into the owners' area of the Leica website. More details here.

Nikon to launch first Android powered camera running Google Play apps.

According to Nikon Rumors , Nikon  is reportedly preparing to announce its first Android powered compact camera, reportedly called the Coolpix S800 or S800c

The expected camera specs are:

• 25-250 mm lens
• 3.5" OLED screen
• The camera runs all Google Play apps
• The camera will probably run Android 2.3
• Built-in GPS
• Built-in Wi-Fi
• Possible announcement: August 22, 2012

Fox News : Rumors: HP actively meeting with HTC, LG, Nikon and Amazon for webOS buying. HP Testing Windows 8 on the webOS TouchPad and thoughts of reviving Touchpad.

Despite in past news and according to FT.com HTC decided not to go with webOS, but had the intention to buy webOS. Fox News today is bringing up to the round tablet of possible webOS buyers to HTC again with who is actually meeting as is with LG, Nikon and Amazon  and more  companies interested  buyers in webOS.

HTC is a Taiwan smartphone maker and  one of the best hardware out there, LG  is more specialized in TVs, Audio components, Washer machines, refrigerators. A WebOS-enabled  LG televisión? And the trys  LG made  in smartphones  were not successful .

 Surprises us Nikon maybe for webOS powered cameras?

“Sources on the WebOS team say that HP is actively meeting with a number of interested buyers including HTC, LG, Nikon, and Amazon.”

HP Testing Windows 8 on the webOS TouchPad.

“Sources within HP told FoxNews.com that the hardware team has been busy doing proof-of-concept work testing Windows 8 Developer Release on the devices, which are currently listed in retail stores and online at fire-sale prices.
