HP launched 4 new Slates Android tablets. Some of the specifications below:

• HP Slate7 Plus: Priced at $149.99, the most entry-level tablet of the bunch features a 7-inch 1280×800 display, 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 5-megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel front cameras, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 4000mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. SD slot: up to 32GB.

• HP Slate7 Extreme (currently listed as “Out of Stock”): Stepping things up to $199.99 will get you a tablet with a 7-inch 1280×800 screen, 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 chip, 5-megapixel rear camera, 0.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and 4100mAh battery. Like the Slate7 Plus, the Extreme comes preloaded with Android 4.2.2.SD slot: up to 32GB.

• HP Slate8 Pro (shown above): The most expensive Slate of the bunch at $329.99. That extra cash will net buyers some improved specs, though, including an 8-inch 1600×1200 display, 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 720p HD front-facing shooter, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and 5680mAh battery. Comes preloaded with Android 4.2.SD slot: up to 32GB.

• HP Slate10 HD: The biggest tablet of the bunch, but not necessarily the most expensive. Features a $299.99 price tag and a 10-inch 1280×800 screen, 1.2GHz dual-core Marvell PXA968 processor, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 1GB RAM and 16GB storage. Powered by a combo of a 7000mAh battery and Android 4.2.2.

HP eStation Zeen a tablet? windows 7, webos or android?

According to PR News http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/08/05/hp-slate-estation-zeen-webos-android-or-windows-7/  it seems like a tablet and according to Engagdet http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/05/hp-estation-zeen-tablet-seen-by-fcc-a-slate-in-retail-clothing/ as well.

For me it is clear a tablet PC as you can see on the second image here posted as 9. DUT Testing position

but the report issue date is July 30,2010, so unless these guys who made the tests used to mention as a tablet PC like a tablet computer instead, it could be built in with  any OS, because HP got FCC approvation for the HP slate windows 7 almost a year ago. By the other way is it something that HP just have to change in the windows 7 slate and needed a new FCC approval?

You can read the adobe files on this FCC link. Give us your opinion and if you are an electronic engineer the better. There are a lot of significant electronic test made that you might understand better than me.

Engadget has been recalling a post that they published back in December 2009, when the talked about HP filing a new trademark “Zeen,” which was said to be a portable handheld device. Back then we assumed that it was just an eReader, but now that name has been upgraded to the HP eStation Zeen and looks to be their new Slate device.

This is a bit of a stretch surmising this, but all the signs are there, as a recent FCC filing shows that the device comes with 802.11b/g/n WiFi. Thomas Ricker from the gadget blog believes that this is the fabled HP Slate, but there are still a number of questions that needs answering.

We know that it is a tablet, so we would like to know which OS will it run webOS, Android orWindows 7? The smart money would be on webOS, considering Hewlett Packard now owns Palm. However, maybe they would not want to spend time and effort on such a task, when Google and Microsoft already has an operating system in place that will work with these new tablet PCs.

So we have established that it is a tablet, but we have no idea on a price, OS, specs, design or anything else. I know, we are not much help, but we will keep you updated. What OS do you think HP should go with, Android, webOS or Windows 7?
