Microsoft is working in Windows 10 Mobile 64 Bit for Surface Phones 2017.

"In March 2005, he completed one of his "most gratifying pieces of work" at Microsoft when, partnering with AMD, he helped develop the AMD64 architecture (64-bit extensions to the 32-bit x86 architecture) and led the effort to ship the first two x64 64-bit Windows systems (workstation and server). At the time, some questioned why Microsoft developed a 64-bit system; today most computers are 64-bit systems and even our phones will soon have a 64-bit operating system." Source: Microsoft

Microsoft is truly readying the Surface Phone lineup for 2017 and is working on a 64Bit version of Windows 10 Mobile and it simply makes sense because it allows for better performance and more powerful hardware. The real gain is the boost in performance possible thanks to more RAM, (more than 4GB RAM) which could finally make Windows 10 Mobile devices more appealing in the enterprise.

Rumors are saying Microsoft will launch 3 Surface Phone models in 2017 and  one of them will be for business customers.

Lumia phones to start getting Windows 10 Mobile this week.

This week Microsoft might start upgrading to Windows 10 Mobile  the following Lumia phones: 

Lumia 1520, Lumia 930, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, Lumia 635, and Lumia 535.

Please take note your smartphone should be running on a  Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or 810 or 617 to get the upgrade .

The following Lumia smartphones will receive a free upgrade when available: Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930.

According to the Polish site windowsmania this list of Lumias Windows Phones can be upgraded to Windows 10 mobile.

Lumia Model 430DS, 520, 540, 435, 530, 620, 630, 635, 640XL ? , 720, 735,  830, 1020, 920, 925, 1320, 1520, L930, 

Windowsmania.pl got hands on a list of Qualcomm SOCs that are compatible with Windows 10 mobile. 

According to the table, if your Lumia smartphone is equipped with one of the Qualcomm chipsets in the list , then it is eligible to a Windows 10 Mobile upgrade.

Windows 10 Mobile also supports Intel soFIA LTE chipset, indicating Microsoft might  launch new smartphones next year with this chipset in.
