Amazing webOS story by Ben Tattersley at the webOS Connect London. Video.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

This is an Amazing webOS story by Ben Tattersley at the webOS Connect London, where he told about how he began developing webOS apps with Enyo without having a clue before and how he taught to 70 students to develope webOS applications. The students made the homework and in 3 days they brought a wonderful worldwide time clock.

I highly recommend to watch the video to know the full story:

A veritable treasure trove of information on webOS -- in just under 10 minutes.

London: Good Times at webOs Connect. Next Paris and Berlin.

WorldWideTech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

From the HP Palm Developer Center Blog:

Last week was a quite a week for webOS developers. We made the webOS 3.0 SDK available in our Early Access program, webOS 3.0 giving developers a head start on creating apps for TouchPad’s summer launch (get to it!).

We also launched a new and improved HP webOS Developer Center, providing developers with an even better resource for all their webOS efforts. To share the news, we went across the pond and joined an extensive roster of speakers at the webOS CONNECT community event in London.

We can say without a doubt that webOS developers are some of the most devoted and passionate people around. More than 250 people gathered on a rainy Wednesday night, attracting people from all over the UK – there were even developers that trekked in from Germany, France, and Switzerland!
Richard Kerris
They weren’t disappointed. Everyone enjoyed some good food and drinks while hearing from VP of webOS Developer Relations Richard Kerris, our very own Kevin Hague who gave a detailed talk on coding for webOS 3.0, and other great voices in the webOS community:
  • Mike Bracken, Director of Digital Development – Guardian News & Media
  • Aaron Ardiri, Developer – Mobile1UP
  • Ben Tattersley, Student/webOS Developer
  • Ben Fysh, IT Consultant and owner of milclobe Ltd.
  • Simon Maddox, Developer – Touchnote.com
  • Robert Douglas, UX Designer – Ribot
You can also check out more pics from the event.

While everyone gave entertaining and informative presentations, attendees seemed to agree that Ben Tattersley was the star of the night.

Even though Ben’s a student by day, he found it so easy to develop for webOS (check out his app, Tumblbox) and loved the platform so much that he decided to teach a class on webOS development at his school. The class started out with about 5-7 students, growing to over 70! That’s quite a feat, Ben – our hat’s off to you. We could see your sincere passion for webOS.

It was a great time, lots of energy and excitement for where webOS is going. We’re just getting started, as we plan to support webOS CONNECT events coming up in Paris and Berlin. So to all our friends there, stay tuned and we hope to see you there!
