Last year 2015 Samsung released the Galaxy S6 in April 10th, now according to @evleaks the company will make available the Galaxy S7 in the USA in March 11th, Friday, that will be unveiled at MWC 2016  a day before the event starts, the 21st. as Samsung usually does.

iPhone 5se "special and enhanced" coming in 4 inch for late March.

Apple`s rumored  small size iPhone will not be a 6C model at all. It is coming as a "special and enhanced" (se) iPhone 5s as 5se with the following upgrades:

• The chamfered, shiny edges have been replaced with curved glass like on the iPhone 6 and 6s lines
• The same 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera systems from the iPhone 6
• Support for larger panoramas and autofocus for video recording
• Barometer for tracking elevation in the Health app
• An NFC chip for Apple Pay
• The A8 and M8 chips from the iPhone 6
• Bluetooth 4.2, VoLTE, and 802.11ac WiFi chips from the iPhone 6s
• Live Photos from the iPhone 6s
• Same Silver, Space Gray, Gold, & Rose Gold color options as the 6s line.

No 3D Touch included.  Still include a headphone jack

Apple hopes that this model could spur additional upgrades over time from those currently sticking to an iPhone 5 or earlier. 

The current 5s will likely be discontinued, and the “5se” will take its place. The new device is currently in production overseas and is planned for a March introduction ahead of a late March or early April release.

Meet the 2016 HONDA Civic.

The Civic has been a best-seller in America for decades, but that didn't stop Honda from overhauling the sedan for 2016. The results: more room, features and power than ever, including the option of Honda's first turbo engine in a U.S. model.

The 2016 Civic is the largest ever, with interior and trunk space that actually qualify it as a mid-size rather than the compact model it has been, according to federal government classifications.

But the Civic four-door doesn't look or drive like a big car. The test-driven model rode smoothly and handled well, managing body motions better than ever with its new underlying platform.

Fuel economy is improved, too.

The U.S. government's mileage ratings for the 2016 Civic surpass all other non-hybrid, gasoline-powered, mid-size sedans. The government's rating of 31 miles per gallon in city driving and 42 mpg on the highway for the 2016 Civic four-door with a turbo four-cylinder engine even beats most smaller cars' ratings.

Honda revamped the Civic sedan lineup as well. The slow-selling Civic Hybrid sedan and natural gas-powered model are gone for 2016.

The starting manufacturer's suggested retail price, including destination charge, increased only $150 on the base 2016 Civic LX sedan. It starts at $18,475 for the six-speed manual transmission version and $20,275 for the version with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The LX and EX trim levels for 2016 come standard with a new naturally aspirated 2-liter four-cylinder that's the Civic's most powerful base engine ever. It generates 158 horsepower and 138 foot-pounds of torque at 4,200 rpm. This engine is the only one that offers a choice of manual transmission or CVT.

The Civic's higher trim levels of EX-T, EX-L and the new Touring trim come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 174 horsepower and 162 foot-pounds of torque starting at 1,700 rpm.

The starting retail price, including destination charge, for turbo models is $23,035, but it reaches as high as $27,335 for the Touring model. The Touring model includes leather, LED headlights and taillights, dual automatic climate control, heated front and rear seats, a moonroof and a package of safety features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and lane-keeping assist.

All 2016 Civic sedans are longer, wider and lower than their predecessor and come standard with a rearview camera.

In the test-driven Civic Touring sedan, the turbo power was noticeable and gave the car a new, fun personality when the Eco mode was turned off. There was a bit of turbo lag when starting up from a stop, and then the 2,900-pound Civic would take off.

The tested car managed 29 mpg in mostly city travel that was done with the Eco mode activated and occasional spurts of demanding driving. On the highway, it commonly managed 39 mpg.

The average city/highway real-world driving translated to a commendable 421 miles on a single 12.39-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Honda doesn't require premium.

The ride wasn't as quiet as expected — when idling, passengers could hear the engine and road noise.

The seats were surprisingly comfortable and looked good in the leather trim, and the back seats can legitimately accommodate adults, with an extra 1.2 inches of legroom than the previous version. 

The Civic's headroom ranges from 37.1 inches without a moonroof to 36.8 inches with one.

Honda did away with its two-tier dashboard. The new Civic's streamlined dashboard makes the plastics look upscale. Unfortunately, though, neither the glovebox nor the center console locks.

The tested car's 7-inch display screen atop the dashboard didn't have a knob for tuning the radio or adjusting volume, forcing riders to use the touchscreen or steering wheel controls.

One nice touch: A ribbed control on the steering wheel that easily adjusted the audio volume.

Trunk space now measures up to 15.1 cubic feet, and there's more cargo space with the split rear seatbacks folded down.

2015: Global TV panel market share: LG Display 22.4%,Innolux 21%, Samsung 20.67%

TrendForce Reports TV Panel Shipments Were Near 270 Million Units Worldwide in 2015 with BOE Having Explosive Growth of 148.5%

The latest large-size LCD panel shipment report by WitsView, a division of TrendForce, says a total of 22.73 million units of LCD TV panels were shipped in December 2015, down 0.02% from November and up 4.1% year on year. Iris Hu, WitsView assistant research manager, said that even though TV vendors had finished stocked up for the peak season, shipments remained strong throughout the fourth quarter due to high capacity utilization by panel makers and falling prices. Fourth-quarter TV panel shipments totaled 68.4 million units, down just 0.96% from the previous quarter. Among the large-size panel applications, the TV market had the best shipment performance for 2015, growing by 9.33% year on year to 246.29 million units in total. This significant increase in TV panel shipments was attributed to new Chinese Gen-8.5 fabs entering operation during the year and contributing to the supply. 

LGD won back the title of top TV panel supplier for 2015 and Innolux took No. 2 in the worldwide ranking with its remarkable performance

Last year, LG Display (LGD) made the strategic decision to reduce its reliance on orders from its group company, LG Electronics (LGE), and instead committing to the long-term development of the Chinese market. This strategy paid off handsomely despite Chinese competitors putting up a formidable challenge. LGD retook the title of top TV panel supplier worldwide in 2015 by maintaining growth in its shipments, which went up by 6.4% year on year to 55.3 million units. 

Innolux also had a stellar 2015 owing to the procurement of 23.6-inch TV panels by the Mexican government and its cost advantage in the manufacturing of the 39.5-inch TV panels. The increase in the production of 39.5-inch panels in turn helped the panel maker capture more market share. Innolux’s annual TV panel shipments for 2015 reached a record high of 51.73 million units, representing a 3.1% year-on-year growth. Innolux was able to overtake Samsung Display Corp. (SDC) to become the No. 2 supplier in the annual worldwide ranking for the first time. 

SDC’s TV panel shipment performance suffered in 2015 as its group company Samsung Electronics sell-in shipments were lower than anticipated. With the sharp drop in procurement orders, SDC’s annual TV panel shipments retreated by 8% to 50.9 million units. After a hard struggle to become the world’s top TV panel supplier in 2014, SDC was forced to yield the title and moved down two spots to third place.

Shipments began to soar for major Chinese panel makers BOE Technology (BOE) in March last year, when its new Gen-8.5 fab in Chongqing entered operation. In addition to its overwhelming capacity advantage, BOE has also been receiving government subsidies. Hence, it was able to step up its shipments through 2015 even as prices of TV panels were plummeting. BOE saw an explosive annual growth of 148.5% for its 2015 shipments of TV panels, and it held its position firmly as the fourth-largest TV panel supplier in the annual ranking.

AU Optronics (AUO) had made the decision to reduce the share of panels under 40 inches in its shipments and focus on developing high-margin products, such as UHD panels and 55- and 65-inch panels. As a result, its TV panel shipments for 2015 totaled just 27.18 million units, down 5.6% year on year.

China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) also added a new Gen-8.5 fab last year, but the fab did not achieve the expected production volume. 

Also, the panel maker’s shipments of 32-inch panels were affected for a while due to floor cracks in another fab. Nonetheless, CSOT managed to make a recovery at the end of third quarter and increased its annual TV panel shipments slightly by 3.5%, totaling 25.52 million units. The Chinese panel maker held the sixth spot in the ranking for 2015.

Li-Fi, which stands for Light Fidelity, is a new type of fully networked wireless technology that’s said to be 100 times faster than Wi-Fi and that provides a series of advantages that iPhone users could benefit from too.

Although at this point it’s still in development and several companies have been trying to bank on Li-Fi for their devices, it continues to be an experimental feature that’s yet to arrive on any device on the market.

Li-Fi uses visible light to transfer data between devices, with a light sensor installed on the device responsible for converting the information received into an electronic signal. 

This method is said to provide transfer speeds of up to 224 gigabits per second.

And yet, Li-Fi creates new opportunities for owners of devices with such capabilities, as light sources such as the regular bulb in your house can also play the role of data transmitter to your phone. 

The signal is invisible to the human eye, but the transfer speed is clearly higher than the one of standard Wi-Fi.

LG WebOS 3.0 obtains its first domestic security certification.

LG Electronics Web OS smart TV was recognized as secure technology.

LG Electronics has obtained a secure authentication (TTA Verified) for Smart TV platform, Web OS 3.0 from the largest field of information and communication technology security certification institute Korea Information and Communications Technology Association (Telecommunication Technology Association, more than TTA). It received national certification for security technology smart TV manufacturers and the driving environment from among the TTA is the first time for LG Electronics.

This certification means that both users and app developers can safely use LG Smart TV application of Web OS 3.0.

LG Electronics has raised safety by applying the latest security technology to prevent malicious apps.

Web OS 3.0 will produce blocking the path to find the source of apps when it is not clear and to avoid rapidly penetrate the smart TV. 

In addition, USB, My TV, even if a malicious app that flows through the external path, such as an external hard the system can  prevent the installation itself. LG Electronics has also already applied a new proprietary technology that prevents malicious activity even if the app had penetrated to the TV.

LG Electronics is also developing technology for enhanced copyright protection and peace of mind Smart TV app developers to create apps to supply applied to the Web OS 3.0.

MWC 2016: SONY sends out invitations for Press Conference.

Sony Mobile’s Mobile World Congress 2016 press conference will take place on Monday 22 February at 07.30 GMT / 08.30 CET. 

We can’t be sure if new smartphone hardware will be revealed, but remember Sony didn’t have an official event last year, so that could mean we will see something new.
