Issue could cause shipment delays, Taiwanese press reports.Oct 18, 2010.
Smartphone maker HTC Corp.'s latest handsets that use Microsoft Corp.'s revamped Windows Mobile 7 operating system have unwanted reboot problems which may delay its shipments in the peak holiday season, Taiwan's Apple Daily reported Monday, citing an unnamed analyst.
At 0523 GMT, HTC was down 6.9% at NT$624.00. The benchmark Taiex was down 1.6%.
"HTC is starting shipping phones with Windows Mobile 7 now, so it is still on schedule," HTC spokeswoman Maggie Cheng said, declining to comment further.
The Taiwanese firm said earlier this month it will introduce the new handsets with carriers in the U.S., Europe and Asia in the current quarter.
A Microsoft representative wasn't immediately available for comment.
