AT&T mulling Apple`s FaceTime charges, preparing for next version of iOS.

Dow Jones Newswires said that AT&T might be set to introduce charges for using Apple’s FaceTime IP calling application over its mobile network, following the addition of support for this in the next version of Apple’s iOS device platform.

The report notes that developers working with an early build of iOS6 attempting to use this feature were met with a notification which “strongly resembles” one delivered previously when using tethering, before the operator began charging extra for this service. Until now FaceTime has only been available via WiFi networks.
