Titans battle coming: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs LG Optimus Vu 2.
The same as their predecessors, these two smartphones are expected
to feature both high-end hardware inside, as well as impressively large
touchscreen displays, thus being capable of impressing end-users in new
ways.
The Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to land on shelves with a
5.5-inch touchscreen display, while packing a quad-core application
processor inside, the same as the Galaxy S III did. The Galaxy Note 2 was somehow confirmed to be set for an official unveiling at the end of next month.
If so, it
will most certainly leave Optimus Vu 2 behind, since LG is reportedly
planning only a 5-inch touchscreen display on its device, complemented
by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz dual-core processor.
Both
handsets might land on shelves with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream
Sandwich right from the start, though some suggest that Samsung could up
the ante and put Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on its behemoth.
Both these smartphones
are expected to arrive on shelves around the world sometime in
September or October this year, and might provide users with LTE
connectivity, at least in some of the markets where they will be
available for purchase.
One way or the other, the two phone-tablets
are expected to make it to the headlines quite a lot in the near future,
as the entire mobile industry appears to be moving towards larger
screens and faster application processors.
They bring along
the best of two worlds, packing both features and capabilities found in
smartphones, and functionality that only tablet PCs can offer at the
moment.
