Sony will unveil its next flagship
device on September 4th, just before the IFA consumer electronics show
in Germany kicks off on September 6th.
Bloomberg’s sources say
that the new device will feature the same kind of “imaging technology
developed for its cameras and ultra-high definition TVs” by using the
“‘X-Reality’ picture-enhancement chips developed for Bravia TVs and
sensors for its Cyber-shot cameras.”
Rumors have indicated that Sony’s newest smartphone
will feature a 5-inch full HD display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon
800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a microSD slot and a 20-megapixel camera.
Sony’s new flagship has been developed under an internal code name of
Honami, a Japanese hot-spring area. Sony has been using such names
during the development of its handsets, including the Xperia Z, one of
the people said.
