Stingray of 1000 kilos was captured near Ecuador, South America.

A stingray about 1000 kilos of weight was captured by fishermen in the cove La Cruz, in the Peruvian Tumbes region bordering Ecuador, local media reported today.

A tourist took a picture of the huge stingray, last April 18, when it was transferred by crane by fishermen, and immediately was shared in social networks and Peruvian media.

Attorney Crime Prevention of Tumbes, Felix Quinde Feijoo, today asked the representatives of Instituto del Mar del Peru (IMARPE) to inform him of the fact, since it is a little known species off the coast of Peru.
