Finally, Samsung Mobile sent a tweet confirming August 2 as the date for unveiling the new Galaxy Note 7. The event will be streamed live via www.samsung.com
Samsung answers to Why Note 7 instead Note 6?:
"First and foremost though, you might be curious as to why it’s called Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6. There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note7 will complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio. Second, the Galaxy Note7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone."
Doors open at 10. Presentation begins at 11 EDT. Alice Tuly Hall, Lincoln Center, New York. There will be satellite events taking place in London and Rio de Janeiro respectively.
The Galaxy Note7 is rumored to be packing a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. Samsung is yet to confirm if there will be a Galaxy Note 7 edge as rumors said. The phablet could arrive witrh 4GB of RAM, 32GB , 64GB and expandable storage, a 12-megapixel camera on the back and a 4,000 mAh battery.

To celebrate the launch of the Galaxy Note7, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will take place at 11:00 a.m. EDT in New York on August 2, 2016.
Simultaneous, launch events will take place in Rio de Janeiro at noon and in London at 4:00 p.m.
