WorldWideTech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.Press Release:
Great news for all you Quickoffice iPad fanatics out there! We just released a new update to Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite for iPad, now available for download in the App Store. Just in time for the busy holiday travel season, we’ve added two new access partners, including Huddle and SugarSync, making it even easier to access documents stored in cloud repositories.
Huddle is a file storage, project management and collaboration tool that helps professionals and consumers manage people, projects and information. Huddle most recently received $10.2 million in funding and used the investment to triple its engineering staff and revamp its core feature set, which now includes Quickoffice! SugarSync is an online backup, file sync and sharing service that makes it easy to stay connected anytime, anywhere, from any device.
Both companies are expanding rapidly and looking for ways to improve their service to assist users with remote access and storage of digital content. We are excited to be integrating with these two companies to offer our customers greater flexibility and options when editing documents on the move.
In addition to our connected services enhancements, we also made several file management improvements. Users can now select, copy, paste, move, download or transfer multiple files at a time from both the local device and remote storage partners. You can also search for files on the device or remote storage locations by file name, making it easier than ever to quickly locate a document that you’d like to edit. We’ve also added additional external keyboard support and more language support, including French, Italian, German and Spanish.
PowerPoint editing:
We would also like to inform our customers about the progress of PowerPoint editing for Quickoffice on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices. Our developers are working hard to get these free updates out to our customers as quickly as possible.
Providing a free update as promised to PowerPoint editing is our top priority. We want to ensure this update has the superior quality and great user experience our customers have come to expect from Quickoffice.
Our estimated timeframe to deliver a PowerPoint update for iPad will be January 2011 and an update for iPhone/iPod touch will follow afterwards. The Quickoffice apps will include the most robust PowerPoint editors available in the App Store, and it’s taking a little extra time to get everything just right. We appreciate your patience during the first few weeks of 2011, and we think you’ll be pleased with the results.
