muvee Reveal 8 Enhanced with New iPad and iPhone4 Support

Automatic Video Editing Software Also Enables Direct Uploads to Facebook HD and YouTube HD

Entering its 10th year as a pioneer and leader in home movie-making software and services, muvee announced today that Reveal version 8 now offers direct export to iPad tablet computers and the iPhone4 as well as direct uploading to Facebook HD and YouTube HD. With muvee Reveal, consumers can also share and enjoy their home movies by uploading directly to shwup, muvee’s online private video- and photo-sharing service; burning DVDs; and exporting movies directly to an iPod, mobile phone or PSP.

“muvee Reveal 8 was refreshed in response to the popularity of the iPad, iPhone4 and consumer HD camcorders,” said Terence Swee, muvee CEO. “By offering these new updates free to current muvee Reveal 8 users, they’ll be able to enjoy their home movies in even higher quality on these devices, and on YouTube and Facebook.”

Other than automatically sprucing up your home movies, muvee Reveal also optimizes the output for different devices, automatically adjusting the various aspect ratios, resolutions and compression to achieve the highest quality video and audio playback for each device. For example, for optimal output for the iPhone4 and iPad, which typically provide a resolution of up to 720P, the H264 Main Profile is used; but the aspect ratios for these devices differ-- the iPad is 4:3 and the iPhone4 is 16:9. With four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models, the retina display on the iPhone4 is also capable of so much more if you feed it right.

If eMarketer's latest projections are true, muvee’s new support for the iPad and iPhone4 is timely. According to eMarketer’s latest projections, worldwide tablet sales will reach 81.3 million units in 2012, up from 15.7 million in 2010. The research firm expects iPad sales to increase to nearly 20 million next year and more than 30 million by 2012. And according to Apple, 1.7 million iPhone4 units were sold in just the first 3 days following its launch last June and 3 million in the first month.

“The iPad is a great screen for sharing those previous memories with friends and family, but getting those home movies on it is challenging for most consumers,” Terence Swee noted. “Most camcorder videos are also not directly supported on the iPad, and who wants to watch Uncle John’s raw and shaky camera work anyways? muvee Reveal packages your camcorder footage into great themes and, in a single click, optimizes it for the iPad and lists it in iTunes so that it syncs and plays back flawlessly. All you have to do is upload the video to muvee Reveal, use the program to create a unique home movie and select the new ‘save to iPad’ option.”

With millions of users, muvee Reveal is playing a key role in the growing number of people who share personal/family videos on the Internet. Reveal’s patented technology makes creating videos and uploading them to the Web so easy, even first-time users can do it in just minutes. The software is also popular with consumers who want to quickly post their videos but do not have the time to edit them.

In just three steps, consumers can quickly create amazing home movies by uploading photos and video, clicking on one of the 10 styles that are included and adding music, voiceovers or captions. With the Music Trimming Tool that is included, users can choose the specific portion in a soundtrack they want or can create their own “remixed” music track from multiple songs1 to add emotion, change the mood or adjust the track length. Then, using muvee Reveal’s face and motion detection technology, good segments of the video and photos are automatically synchronized to end when the music ends.

With muvee’s video personalization features, users can make their movies stand out from the millions of videos posted on social media sites by inserting their own logos, watermarks, avatars or photos like a watermark. Simple editing tools and full-screen previews are also included to enable instant gratification, automatic brightness control, color correction, red eye reduction, zoom in/out, rotate, etc.
