Voxeo Labs Demos New Phono WebRTC at Mobile World Congress 2012.
Voxeo Labs, the leading innovator in real-time communications, today demonstrated the first WebRTC-enabled voice and video calls using their Phono SDK, opening up a new era for developers to build in-browser communications applications without the use of Flash or custom software.
"WebRTC provides a platform for web developers and forward-thinking telcos to reshape communications into something more fluid and convenient. I'm just so thrilled that we get to play a part in the revolution." says Voxeo Labs CTO, Jose de Castro.
The Phono SDK makes WebRTC-enabled browsers capable of 'dialing' traditional land lines and mobile phones. When combined with Phono's real-time presence and chat capabilities, developers have all the tools to mashup a GoogleTalk or Skype-like service in a matter of hours.
"Giving web developers an easy way to build applications that can make and receive video calls from inside the web browser has enormous potential to be disruptive, in everything from customer service applications to mobile gaming," said VoIP pioneer Jeff Pulver, founder of the Voice on the Net conferences.
The Voxeo Labs team will be demonstrating live Phono + WebRTC voice and video calls during Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain. Demos will be held February 27 - March 1 at the Vincci Arena Hotel, Condal Mar Room. Contact Cristina Moe cmoe@voxeo.com to schedule a personal demo.
