Benedict Cumberbatch "The Imitation Game" star, who played  as the British cryptanalyst Alan Turing, who helped solve the Enigma code during the Second World War and was later prosecuted for homosexuality is already starting to feel the `personage of his next roll as Marvel`s "Doctor Strange" character.

Benedict Cumberbatch has finally shared his thoughts about Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie.
"Excited, really excited, you know," "The Imitation Game" star said when asked about how he feels in his upcoming project at the British Independent Film Awards as reported by Mirror
"There's a lot of work to be done and I'm just at the beginning of it all so I'm not going to talk too much about it's a thrilling gig to get and I can't wait. Very excited."
While Cumberbatch refused to give out further details about the upcoming project, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously expressed his confidence in the 38-year-old British actor.
"Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity," Feige said. "In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."
Feige further explained the importance of "Doctor Strange" to the Marvel Cinematic Universe during his interview with  Screen Rant.
"With Strange, it is a classic Marvel origin story because he's got one of the best origins ever," he explained.
"And it's our opportunity to take that left turn into the supernatural. Now, what is the definition of supernatural? It varies. We like the idea of playing with alternate dimensions. The very sort of crazy - Steve Ditko crazy acid trip way of traveling through dimensions and traveling through other realms is something that we think is very, very cool ... playing with the perceptions of reality."
No other cast has been confirmed yet.
Marvel's "Doctor Strange" will reportedly hit cinemas sometime in November 2016.
HISTORY:

Marvel`s "Doctor Strange" comic went out for the first time in July 1963 and was created by Steve Ditko.

Powers of Doctor Strange:

Strange is a practicing magician who draws his powers from various mystical entities such as AgamottoCyttorak, the Faltine, IkonnOshturRaggadorr, the Seraphim, andWatoomb, and artifacts including the Cloak of Levitation which enables him to fly, the Eye of Agamotto whose light is used to negate evil magic, the Book of the Vishanti which contains knowledge of white magic, and the Orb of Agamotto which is used as a crystal ball.

In addition to his magical abilities, Strange is a skilled neurosurgeon, even after losing the use of his hands due to nerve damage, and is trained in several different martial arts disciplines.

Doctor Strange has been described as "the mightiest magician in the cosmos" and "more powerful by far than any of your fellow humanoids" by Eternity, the sentience of the Marvel Universe. He has held the title of Sorcerer Supreme from 1973 (with the death of the Ancient One) to the present, except during an interruption from 1992 to 1995. He relinquished the title once again in 2009,but reclaimed it in 2012 when he proved himself willing to protect the world even without the title.

Doctor Strange appeared as a regular character throughout the 2010-2013 New Avengers series, from issue #1 (August 2010) through the final issue #34 (Jan. 2013). Renamed Doctor Voodoo, the newly appointed Sorcerer Supreme sacrifices himself in order to stop the powerful mystical entity Agamotto from reclaiming the Eye. The following issue, a guilt-ridden Strange, rejoining the New Avengers, offers the team his servant Wong to act as their housekeeper. Strange and Wong are seen working with improvised teams of Avengers in later incidents. He eventually regains his position of Sorcerer Supreme when the ghost of Doctor Voodoo's brother, Daniel Drumm, attempts to attack Strange by possessing various Avengers and Strange manages to defeat him with the use of dark magic without being corrupted by it. The spirit of the Ancient One appears to Strange to inform him that his willingness to fight for the world even when not officially Sorcerer Supreme, coupled with his ability to use black magic when necessary and then avoid its corruptive influence, has proven that he deserves the mantle.
He continues to appear in the pages of the 2013 incarnation of New Avengers, which focuses on the Illuminati as they deal with "Incursions", cases where two parallel Earths collide and cause the destruction of both universes. As such, the group have engaged in considerable acts of moral ambiguity in dealing with each impending incursion. In addition, Doctor Strange has become the host to a dangerous demon after offering himself up in order to save Princess Phan, a child who the demon was possessing. The demon ultimately possessed Strange when fighting a group of heroes from a world threatened by an incursion and kills most of those heroes, resulting in the Illuminati having to stop him.
Eight months into the future, it is revealed that Doctor Strange later becomes the leader of the Black Priests.
