We think it is already granted the webos notebooks massive production is included in the project, BEYOND our expectations.

"The government of Chongqing City, western China, has successfully created a large notebook production in the city with Hewlett-Packard (HP), Foxconn, Quanta Computer and Inventec stationing there. The base is expected to become the largest around the world, with shipments to increase from 35-40 million units in 2011 to 60-70 million units in 2012 and further to 100 million units in 2013, according to mayor Huang Qi-fan at a signing ceremony in Taipei on January 18."

"The ceremony marked Chicony Electronics' signing with the government to set up a factory at the production base."

"Acer has decided to set up a base at the production base, and Asustek Computer and Toshiba are very likely to follow suit, Huang indicated. In addition to vendors, notebook ODMs Compal Electronics, Wistron and Pegatron Technology have decided to do so, Huang added. 120 component makers have stationed at the production base to form a supply chain and 80 more will join in 2011, Huang pointed out."

"Chicony will produce keyboards, lens modules, power supplies and wireless communication modules for notebooks, with the factory to be completed in May and production to kick off in July-August 2011, said company vice chairman Lin Mao-kuei at the ceremony."
