Android apps subscription service coming soon.

A subscription service which will allow users to access any of its Android applications and games each month is due to go live in September.

Appscribe is touted as the only subscription service offering both games and apps for the Android platform, which also helps developers gain greater exposure and revenue than through other channels.

The service is intended to help users find the best apps among the almost 300,000 available on Android Market. Apps and games that appear in the Appscribe library will be evaluated to ensure they are of a suitable standard, and consumers will be asked to choose what apps are featured on the service via a survey.

Due to the low barriers of entry for Android apps, Appscribe says that Android Market has in some cases become home to some low-quality games and apps, malware and spam, making it harder for high-quality app developers to get noticed.

The monthly subscription cost – which gives access to the entire app library - will be roughly equivalent to users buying one app or game per month. Developers will also be able to choose from different revenue models, which include recurring monthly income and commission for subscribers that sign up to use Appscribe through free or trial versions of their apps.

Suggesting increased activity around Android app subscription services, tier-one games developer Gameloft announced its  Gameloft Club subscription service for Android  handsets. For £0.99, users get one mobile game per week, a 66 percent discount on the standard price of the games.

Meanwhile, exent launched its Game Tanium MObile subscription Mobile subscription service for Android based games back in July, for which users pay US$4.99 per month to access 75 mobile games.
