China: ZTE launched first windows phone.

China-based vendor ZTE has launched V965W, its first Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone, for contract-bundled sale by China Unicom, according to China-based tech.163.com.

V965W is equipped with a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, 4.3-inch touch screen and supports WCDMA/GSM dual modes. The smartphone is for contract-free sale at less than CNY2,000 (US$317), the report said.

ZTE shipped more than 15 million smartphones in 2011 and aims to ship over 30 million in 2012, the report indicated. ZTE has set a goal of generating revenues of more than CNY100 billion from handset shipments to become one of the world's three largest handset vendors in 2015.
