Samsung
has started rolling out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) to Galaxy
Note owners in the UK, the company has confirmed to The INQUIRER.
It's not all good news. The update is only available to those who forked out for a SIM free Samsung Galaxy Note, as those who have a network locked handset will have to wait for the carrier's approval.
In a statement, Samsung explained, "Samsung UK can confirm that the [Android 4.0] Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy Note has been released and will be available when approved across the networks."
We've been in touch with the mobile networks for update timings, but are still waiting to hear back at the time of writing.
The Android 4.0 ICS update for the Samsung Galaxy Note brings a number of tweaks to the 5.3in 'phablet' device. As well as the usual reworked user interface and Face Unlock feature, the Note will be treated to a bundle of "premium" content, including a card-making app called S Story, a tweaked S Note app for "advanced note-taking" and exclusive Angry Birds Space content.
The update, which is about 320MB, is available to download via Samsung's PC software suite Kies.
