iWatch Concepts.
The Nikkei reported on Friday, Apple will start selling its first smartwatch ( iWatch) in October and before the launch, will produce 3 to 5 million units monthly.
Rumors are saying the iWatch will sport a curved OLED (organic light-emitting diode) displays and sensors that collect health data from blood glucose and calorie consumption to sleep activity.
The blood glucose levels sensors – could be a big win for Apple if
true.
Such sensors would essentially make it easier to track what a person is
ingesting without relying wholly on what the wearer manually logs on their
smartphone.
“Glucose tracking is the Holy Grail for
wearables,” says one industry source from a large tech company also working on
a wearable device. The problem is that no wearable device maker has figured out
how to measure glucose non-invasively. “Nobody has cracked it yet.”
