Nexus Angelfish and Swordfish Google`s smartwatches renders and specifications surged.

Nexus Angelfish smartwatch is similar to the LG Urbane LTE in terms of bulk, but we imagine this is to accommodate for a larger battery due to the LTE connectivity featured on the smartwatch  It’s apparently 43.5mm in diameter, making it smaller than the large 46mm Moto 360 but larger than the standard 42mm variant.
In terms of colour options, it seems like the Nexus Angelfish smartwatch may only be available to buy in a single colour, titanium.

Swordfish

The Nexus Swordfish (codename, not official!) looks to be a bit simpler. Described as being similar to the Pebble Time Round without the huge screen bezel in terms of design, Swordfish also sports a different button arrangement when compared to Angelfish.
While Angelfish features three buttons, Swordfish features only one – a crown on the right-hand side of the smartwatch. It’s said to have a polished metal cap with a rigid crown-like bezel similar to that featured on the Apple Watch, which should again help convey the premium look and feel of the smartwatch.
Without the extended functionality of Angelfish, Swordfish can afford to be thinner than its counterpart measuring in at 10.6mm thin. While the thickness of Swordfish is pretty impressive at 0.8mm thinner than the current Moto 360, it’s not quite impressive enough to compete with the 7.5mm thin Pebble Time Round.
The Nexus Swordfish smartwatch is said to be available in more colours than Angelfish, with three choices available – Silver, Titanium and Rose Gold.
The smartwatches will be revealed after the launch of the upcoming Google Nexus 5/6 smartphones, which are due out later this year or  near the end of 2016, if not early 2017.

LG cooking two new WebOS powered smartwatches. Pictures.

The LG Urbane LTE WebOS powered  was presented at the MWC 2015 and is not around yet in the west at all , but still in Korea. However this version is now available on amazon but is not selling at a reasonable price.

Now LG is coming with two new WebOS powered thanks to the presence of  a headphone jack and CDMA connectivity . The LG`s Urbane LTE smartwatch is the only smartwatch with cellular connectivity and it is the WebOS version.

The two models are: the LG-VC110 and the LG-VC200. (this last is coming to Verizon, see picture above). The VC-110 measures 56mm x 41.5mm, with a 45mm screen. On the other hand, the VC-200 has the same overall size of 56mm x 41.5mm, but its screen is listed at only 33mm. Both with mini USB port in the back, Bluetooth 4.0 LE ,WiFi,

These two models passed through the FCC.

There are currently no Android Wear smartwatches with cellular connectivity, and there has been no indication that Google would support it.

Smartwatch married to smartphone or a really stand-alone smartwatch?

(This article is for you and smartwatches manufacturers)

How many smartwatches in the market we have until now? Can you remember the names and models of every manufacturer?

Pebble with 2 classic versions, SONY with 3 versions , SAMSUNG has 5 versions, LG has 4 versions, APPLE has 3 model versions, MOTO 360 just one and so many more and  knock-offs versions that you can find some  on Amazon store.

Only Samsung has made the first Tizen stand-alone smartwatch until now. (but with no video capture feature)Samsung

My point is:  a real SMARTWATCH has to work exactly like an smartphone but on a reduced size screen. It means it has to operate WiFi, take videos, pictures, watch Youtube videos all the possible and most important apps you have on your smartphone, but  by its own. That is what SMARTWATCH means. So why keeping it tied to your smartphone to work, that is a joke and I don`t think in time is a real business.

What , are you afraid to get reduced sales of your smartphones? Well  it could happen. Maybe the real SMARTWATCH deal will substitute some of  those smartphones sales instead.

Maybe you as a manufacturer is the time to make a decision. Keep making REAL STAND-ALONE SMARTWATCHES or  If NOT, just abandon the idea of it and keep making smartphones only.

Don`t waste your time and money. There are so many people out there that will not buy married SMARTWATCHES at all.

Would you?

2014: Samsung is #1 smartwatch vendor worldwide. Pebble is second.

According to market research firm Statista Samsung leads the worldwide smartwatch market by units sales in year 2014 with 1.200.000 units sold (17.65%), followed by the startup Pebble with 700.000 units sold

Apple is due to launch its highly anticipated smartwatch today, marking the company's first attempt at entering a new technology category since Steve Jobs's death. In 2014, 89 companies sold 6.8 million smartwatches across the world and the average price per watch worked out at $189.

Who are the main players in the smartwatch market? Like the smartphone market, Samsung is going to be Apple's main competitor. The South Korean technology behemoth sold approximately 1.2 million units in 2014, ahead of second placed Pebble with 700,000. The top three was rounded off by Fitbit who sold 600,000 smartwatches.
