Egypt: Intel acquires mobile platform developer SySDSoft

Chipmaker Intel, through its standalone business entity Intel Mobile Communications, has acquired most of the assets of Egyptian software company SySDSoft and hired approximately 100 of the company's electrical engineers and computer scientists.

SySDSoft designs IP systems in the software stack and physical layer domain, and RF/analogue circuits embedded in mobile platforms. SySDSoft's systems enhance Intel Mobile Communications' existing multi-communications portfolio, specifically accelerating its LTE efforts with the addition of software development and design features.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
