World Record: Messi exceeds Müller's record of goals in a calendar year with 86 goals.
With his two goals against Betis, the argentine exceeds the previous record of 85 goals achieved by Gerd Müller in 1972.
Leo Messi has achieved a world record four decades old, today Sunday. His two goals against Betis (watch video below) have been his 85 and 86 of 2012 (between Barca and Argentina), which reached record equaling Gerd Müller in 1972 (between Bayern Munich and Germany).
