LG OLED TV gets top grades in U.S. consumer review

LG Electronics Inc.'s organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV has received the best response from a U.S. consumer review magazine, industry sources said Monday.
In the recent review by Consumer Reports, the 55-inch LG OLED TV, dubbed the 55EG9100, has received the top grade among other rival models surveyed in the 55-59 inch bracket.
Another LG Ultra OLED TV, dubbed the 55EG9600, followed suit. The third and fourth spots were taken by Samsung Electronics Co.'s Ultra HD TV models, they said.
As for the models larger than 60 inches, LG Electronics' 65-inch Ultra OLED TV, dubbed the 65EF9500, and Samsung Electronics' SUHD TV, named the 65JS9500, were the co-winners.
Following in the 60-inch group was a Bravia TV model by Japan's Sony Corp.
South Korean players took the top spots in all six segments categorized by the evaluator.

  • LG OLED TV uses a revolutionary technology that delivers truly exceptional picture quality.
  • 8.3 million pixels for four times the resolution of Full HD TVs.
  • LG Smart TV with webOS 2.0 has been redesigned to be even simpler and more fun to use.
