Verizon Wireless on Friday launched a new website to promote the upcoming launch of its LTE network, but you won't find a launch date there quite yet.
The carrier is inviting consumers to enter their email address to receive alerts with the latest Verizon 4G news, including launch date, pricing, coverage and "much more."
The verbiage around the service doesn't promise any particular speed, but says it's an "abundance of bandwidth. Reducing your lag time significantly. And it's a powerful signal that makes you invincible."
At a Bank of America Merrill Lynch investor conference last week, AT&T Business Solutions President and CEO John Stankey didn't mention anything about being "invincible," but he did say AT&T will launch commercial LTE by mid-next year. "We're not sitting on the sideline," he said, adding that the operator is actively working with vendors.
Baltimore and Dallas are serving as AT&T's first LTE test markets.
