Acer has settled on cooperation with many mobile telecom carriers around the world for contract-bundled sales of its three Iconia series tablet PCs to be launched in March-April, with the total volume for orders received in excess of the initial supply, according to the company.
Acer will launch the 10-inch Windows 7 Iconia W500 in mid-March, 10-inch Android 3.0 Iconia A500 equipped with Nvidia Tegra 2 in late March, and 7-inch Android Iconia A100 and 4.8-inch Iconia Smart, a device between tablet PC and smartphone, in April, Acer indicated.
The four models support Wi-Fi only for the time being and will support 3G as well after passing local testing, Acer pointed out.
Mainly due to tight supply of key components, especially touch panels, initial supply will be short of the total orders, Acer explained.
