USA: What is the press buzzing about the 2014 Mazda6 SKYACTIV?
The press is buzzing about the all-new, SKYACTIV® 2014 Mazda6! In their words:
The New York Times: “Mazda’s flagship car doesn’t resemble anything else in the ho-hum midsize sedan segment.”
Detroit Free Press: “When [the car] goes on sale in January, it will initially be offered with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. In the second half of the year, the car also will be available with a 2.2-liter twin-turbocharged diesel engine.”
Washington Post: "On overseas models, this engine can deliver between 148 and 173 horsepower and between 280 and 310 pound-feet of torque.”
The Wall Street Journal: “EPA fuel economy numbers are not [yet] available but Mazda said they should be 'class leading.'”
Autoweek: “…The performance of this Mazda diesel engine is going to surprise many drivers.” “Make no mistake: This is a big deal.”
Green Car Reports: "[The 2014 Mazda6] will also be the first production model to get Mazda's i-ELOOP system, a capacitor-based regenerative braking system that can … supplement the power demands of accessories or air conditioning—increasing fuel efficiency.”
