Japan-based notebook brand Fujitsu has recently launched its self-developed 10.1-inch LifeBook TH40/D tablet PC featuring Windows 7 in Japan, the US and Europe, and the company is already prepared to launch a 7-inch model featuring Android in the third quarter, according to Fujitsu Taiwan.
The company pointed out that the 7-inch Android-based tablet PC will target mainly the consumer market, unlike the LifeBook TH40/D, which is aiming for the enterprise market.
The 7-inch model is expected to adopt the latest Android 3.1 and will be priced at about NT$10,000-20,000 (US$347-694). In order to offer such a price level, the company will outsource production of the device to Taiwan-based ODMs, which the company declined to reveal in any detail.
As for its 10.1-inch LifeBook TH40/D, the company plans to add support for a stylus and 3.5G module in the future and when Fujitsu launches the LifeBook TH40/D in Taiwan, the model will already equip both features and be priced at above NT$30,000.
Meanwhile, Fujitsu has announced its new LifeBook S-series notebooks and 12-inch LifeBook P-series notebooks with all models made at the company's plants in Japan and priced in between NT$43,800-73,800.
