LTE: Sprint’s LTE decision likely to come mid-year

Light Reading Mobile reports that Sprint CEO Dan Hesse yesterday once again reiterated that Sprint will make an announcement about its future technology plans this summer.

 The US operator has deployed next-generation mobile networks based on WiMAX technology but looks set to switch to LTE.

 Last week a Sprint executive told a media event attended by Mobile Business Briefing in California that “there’s a high likelihood an element of LTE will feature” in its future plans.
