Telefonica inks encrypted voice deal.

Telefonica inked a deal with Cellcrypt, which describes itself as “the leading provider of encrypted voice calling on mobile phones,” to offer secure voice services in the 13 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean where the Spain-based giant operates.

 The technology is “used by governments and corporations globally,” with a downloadable app for smartphones providing end-to-end encryption of voice over 2G, 3G, WiFi and satellite networks.
