HP has acquired Printelligent to boost printing services.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

HP already claims to be at the top of MPS, and that this acquisition will only “strengthen HP’s leadership.” It’s doubtful that Printelligent was much of a competitor for HP, but it has the software, resources and infrastructure that HP wants.

HP also cites the “trained workforce of Printelligent,” so possibly everyone over at Printelligent will be integrated into HP.

Printelligent has been on the scene for the last 23 years as a national managed print provider. When the deal is done, the company will be integrated into HP’s Imaging and Printing Group within the LaserJet and Enterprise Solutions unit.

From then on, it will be used to “help HP’s channel partners extend their customer relationships” and “optimize the traditional technology environments.”

The deal is expected to close during the third quarter of this year, and financial terms were not revealed.
