At the SETDA Leadership Summit and Education Forum Nov. 7-10, visitors will observe first-hand the power of two of McGraw-Hill Education's revolutionary digital teaching and learning programs, both designed to improve learning outcomes.
Power of U is a groundbreaking program that individualizes instruction and assessment, while enabling teachers to guide students through the use of real-time data. CINCH Mathematics is a comprehensive, all-digital, teacher-led K-6 math program that offers teachers the long-sought, true potential of technology to enhance their teaching experience, with remarkable power to engage and instruct.
The SETDA event will take place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.
These digital solutions are based on an instructional strategy that engages K-12 students by allowing them to learn using the technologies that they love to use at home, while providing teachers with extensive data that can be used to improve student performance.
At the SETDA event, McGraw-Hill will demonstrate how each program can effectively contribute to greater student achievement in today's classroom. Power of U and CINCH Mathematics both build on McGraw-Hill's success in providing digital solutions that engage today's digital natives in school. These solutions empower teachers, providing them with the student data needed to individualize and inform instruction. These are the kinds of solutions that are required to develop students who will be competitive as learners and achievers in a global economy that demands 21st century skills.
Power of U
Power of U combines McGraw-Hill's renowned educational content and the industry's leading formative assessment tool, Acuity, with the learning management components of ActivProgress, Promethean's unique collaboration platform used to support personalized instruction. Studies demonstrate that today's students require different instructional approaches and spend different amounts of time on lessons depending on their individual learning needs and styles (i.e., teacher-led instruction, small group instruction, one-on-one tutoring and independent study). The data-driven Power of U platform analyzes how each student masters each skill, and then recommends to the teacher the appropriate student grouping, instructional technique and appropriate content to use. On Nov. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. EST, Power of U will be demonstrated at SETDA by Travis Hamilton, director of Power of U for McGraw-Hill's Learning Solutions Centers.
CINCH Mathematics, the first K-6 teacher-led, digital math program of its kind, uses interactive whiteboard technology and Promethean student response devices, ActivExpressions or ActiVotes. Developed by the McGraw-Hill Education Center for Digital Innovation, CINCH Mathematics helps teachers plan, teach, assess and differentiate instruction through one powerful online tool. Students learn math concepts and acquire skills through motivating, teacher-led, interactive whiteboard classroom instruction. The student-response devices engage today's digital natives and encourage even the quietest students to participate in lessons. The program collects each student's answers so teachers can use them to individualize instruction. CINCH Mathematics will be demonstrated by McGraw-Hill's Polly Stansell, director of Emerging Curriculum Solutions, from 6:30 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. EST on Nov 7.
McGraw-Hill Education's digital teaching and learning solutions are built on more than 100 years of experience in creating and validating innovative educational strategies. The company partners with school districts nationwide to create comprehensive programs and services that help facilitate teaching and ensure positive learning outcomes.
