Android design website by Google.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

Google announced Android Design, a website for developers to “learn about principles, building blocks, and patterns for creating world-class Android user interfaces.”

In a blog post, Christian Robertson, who leads the Android visual design group, said that with the introduction of Ice Cream Sandwich, “we’ve enhanced the UI framework with new interactions and styles that will let you create Android apps that are simpler and more beautiful than ever before.”

Android Design will be expanded with “more in-depth content” in the coming months, and its developer site will feature “a series of posts about design.”

Google is using Ice Cream Sandwich as a way to address concerns about fragmentation, by integrating its operating system for smartphones and tablets, and mandating support for its Holo user interface theme in all devices powered by the platform.

By providing developers with additional design support, it will enable the creation of apps which look more closely aligned with the core user interface, providing a more integrated look and feel for consumers.
