AT & T Inc reached an agreement to acquire DirecTV in about two weeks, reported Monday the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources with knowledge of the matter.
The operation would materialize worth about 50,000 million, for its part reported the news agency Bloomberg.
The telecommunications company is negotiating the purchase of satellite television company through a cash and stock transaction, sources told the WSJ.
DirecTV was working with several advisers, including Goldman Sachs Group, to evaluate a possible combination after an approach for the purpose of purchase, Reuters reported last week.
AT & T declined to comment, while DirecTV representatives were not immediately available for comment on the report.
