RBH Sound (RBH) unveiled and demonstrated two new additions to its growing line of personal and portable audio products at the 2016 CES this week in Las Vegas.
The HP‑1B over-ear Bluetooth headphones feature 40mm driver diaphragms and, with its memory foam ear pads, are designed for people who demand a premium listening experience while on the move.
The HP‑1B includes Bluetooth 4.0 with the aptX codec, allowing listeners to experience the convenience of wireless audio with improved sound quality and increased streaming efficiency, enhanced overall dynamic range and extended battery life.
RBH has given the HP‑1B a combined music and talk time of 14 hours, making those long-haul flights much more enjoyable. The push-button controls, conveniently located on the right-hand side of the headphones, give listeners the ability to easily adjust volume of their music and play, pause, and skip forward and backward through a playlist. These same controls and a built-in microphone also make it convenient and easy to answer phone calls while on the go.
Travelers looking to pack light for business trips and weekend getaways will appreciate the foldable, lightweight design of the HP‑1B and the protective carrying case RBH includes. Also included with the HP‑1B are two headphone cables, one 1/8-inch (3.5mm) to 1/8-inch cable with a built-in control module and microphone for smart device control and one premium 1.2 meter 1/8-inch to 1/8-inch stereo RBH Diamond Cable for high fidelity listening.
Both cables allow for extended listening via a direct connection if the HP‑1B’s battery runs low. RBH also includes a 1/4-inch (6.35mm) to 1/8-inch adapter for listening to home audio equipment, and a USB charger and charging cable to keep the HP‑1B running on a full charge.
The HP‑2 wired over-ear headphones are designed for those who are seeking an audiophile grade portable listening experience. The HP‑2 incorporates RBH’s proprietary 45mm diameter driver diaphragms that have a beryllium surface applied using a technique the company’s Technical Director, Shane Rich, calls “Thermal Physical Vapor Deposition.” According to Rich, “This micro-thin layer of beryllium provides an extended frequency response that is much more linear than conventional driver diaphragm materials, enabling the listener to experience all the detail of their favorite recordings with true to life soundstage, ambience and fidelity.”
Featuring an ultra-light design and employing special memory foam ear pads, the HP‑2 headphones weigh in at less than 8.9 ounces and are designed to be comfortably worn for hours on end.
RBH includes a sturdy, protective travel case and two high quality headphone cables with the HP‑2s. One cable is a straight-through, 1/8-inch to 1/8-inch 1.2 meter RBH Diamond cable for a premium listening experience; the other 1/8-inch to 1/8-inch high fidelity cable features a smart device controller with a built-in microphone that allows you to control most music functions and answer phone calls while listening. RBH also includes a 1/4-inch to 1/8-inch adapter for listening to home audio equipment with the HP‑2s.
Both the HP‑1B and HP‑2 headphone models are available and shipping now. Pricing for both is $249/each, with a temporary introductory price of $199/each. Both models can be purchased through the company’s authorized dealer and international distributor network or on the company’s web site at rbhsound.com and on amazon.com.
